Good morning everyone!  Let’s say you’re sitting in your chair enjoying your morning favourite beverage and you’re thinking… Hey – before I check out Amber & Tyler’s Laguna Beach wedding, I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California. Feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

You may remember Amber & Tyler from their Engagement Shoot that I did with them back in February at the Griffith Park Observatory.  It was an awesome time for all of us to get to know each other well behind and in front of the camera.  I would even go so far to say very well as I used the photo of the two of them standing in front of the dome on my new business cards.

Fast forward to Sunday, October 11th and I’m at Amber & Tyler’s Laguna Beach wedding and reception which was held at the stunning Surf & Sand Resort facing the ocean.  When I arrived, Amber was getting ready in her suite while Berit (who did my sister; Tawnya & Kurt’s Temecula Wedding at Falkner Winery) put the finishing touches on her makeup.

Once the “Ladies in Waiting” were ready, we headed over to one of the gardens that had the most soft and beautiful light for some of my classic and timeless portraits.  The light was so perfect, that I even photographed Tyler & his “Men in Black” there as well.

Amber & Tyler’s wedding ceremony was held at sunset facing the ocean where you could not only see the waves lapping at the beach, but you could hear them too.  And, immediately after the wedding ceremony was when the magic happened down on the beach for some of my Signature Artistic & Romantic portraits.  I must say, of all the cities I’ve traveled to in the US, Southern California has some of the best sunsets around hands down.

After the portraits we hopped up to Amber & Tyler’s suite to sign the wedding documents and off to the reception from there.  Their reception was spearheaded by Ms. Lora Wesolowski & Alex Catubig where they rolled out the red carpet treatment with white glove impeccability for everyone.  Amber’s mom even had a hand in the reception as she made the gorgeous centerpieces on the tables.

DJ Richard from RL Entertainment kept everyone movin and groovin on the dance floor throughout the night while I had the pleasure of working with Noel Daganta from NDPix who shot video of Amber & Tyler’s wedding and reception.

I would have to say that Amber & Tyler’s wedding was the perfect close to a weekend of shooting three weddings and a dance troop!

So without further ado, here is Amber & Tyler’s Laguna Beach wedding in a little slide show that I put together and is also available on Pictage.  Have a super weekend and check back soon as I’ll be heading up to the Firestone Vineyard for Anna Marie & Lee’s two day wedding excursion this weekend – cheers!

0009Good evening everyone in Huntington Beach, Long Beach and the rest of Southern California!  I have some really awesome news to share with you, but more specifically – this bit’s geared more towards your other half that from time-to-time may need what I like to refer to as “Manscaping.”

That’s right, you read it correctly — “Manscaping.”  Something that all men should really consider getting done if not only for the Big Day, but the Engagement Shoot & perhaps even making it a regular part of your appearance.  Now don’t start thinking you should go off the deep end & get all “Metro” – but having a neat appearance for your portraits is key.  Plus!  Your partner will be happy you did as well.

So as I was paying my “Manscaping” artist; Jenny a visit at Dean Anthony a “Men Only” Salon on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, Long Beach getting my dome looking sharp (And some “Manscaping”), I thought that all guys should be afforded the opportunity to get “Manscaped” for their portraits, wedding or even just because they wanted (or perhaps, needed) to.  I presented the idea of Esquire Photography Partnering with Dean Anthony in Long Beach and guess what – I received an awesome email that will give guys the opportunity to save a couple of bucks getting “Manscaped.”

0054You’re probably asking yourself; “Who is Dean Anthony” and “Why only a “Men Only” salon?”  The answer is an easy one.

The salon name; Dean Anthony comes from the owner’s son, Dean and his great grandfather’s name is Anthony. It represents a ritual handed down through generations. The owner liked the idea of opening a shop that is based on the idea of heritage and tradition. You can bring your son here for a cut while you get a shave. Like their slogan says, it’s where boys become men and men remember when they were boys.

Their sister salon (Bella Salon of Naples) has primarily female clientele. Eventually it was recognized there were men going in that couldn’t be completely comfortable or relax in that setting. Who wants to get a haircut while smelling perm chemicals or not be able to vent to the barber without worrying about offending the woman next to you? I’m not saying guys are crass, but let’s face it – sometimes guys just need to be guys.

So the folks at Dean Anthony in Long Beach and I have a totally awesome exclusive discount for grooms that go in & give them the following code: ESQFOTO. Mention that you are a client of Esquire Photography and you’ll get a 20% discount on Mens Classic Cuts and Modern Man Shaves.  They told me that shaves with David at Dean Anthony book up really quick so you’ll want to call well in advance for your wedding date.

0051Dean Anthony isn’t your typical barber shop or salon. Barber shops have been a place for men to get a quick shave and a haircut.  At Dean Anthony, you still experience the brotherhood of the barbers, yet you can stay and hang out.  It’s set up so you can stay for the day and get a massage, facial, pedicure – either by your self or with a group of friends.

Several of my grooms have gone in & I’ve been seeing Jenny for nearly a year 1/2 now and it’s awesome.  The killer customer service, complimentary beverages and snacks along with video games and TVs at every station make for a totally great break in the day.

They also have a KILLER video commercial too.  Check it out below and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

Have a super rest of your week & stay tuned as I’ll be heading up to the Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos for Anna Marie & Lee’s wedding this weekend.  You may remember them from their Engagement Shoot I recently did at the Huntington Gardens and in downtown Pasadena.  Cheers!

0001Good morning everyone in Huntington Beach and abroad!  I received a note that has a fantastic wedding day tip from my good friends at Elegala.com and I really wanted to share with you this week.

So let’s say you’re an Orange County bride looking to make sure your doing your best to work within some wedding budget etiquette.  Having planned my own wedding and been to my share of weddings in Orange County, Los Angeles, and around the country, I think that this list is really creative and will help you get the most out of your wedding day costs and help keep from ruffling any feathers.

But before I present you with this week’s wedding tip and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

So without further ado, here are some fantastic wedding budget etiquette ideas that aren’t dull and uninspired & have a super Baby Friday – cheers!

Tradition states that the bride’s parents are responsible for fronting the bill for the wedding reception; these days, the bride’s parents, groom’s parents, and the couple themselves all contribute to the wedding pool.  That said, it helps to come to the budgeting table prepped with the traditional list of which side pays for what.  These conventional “rules” can then be adjusted according to your financial situations:

0094Wedding Costs Paid by the Bride and/or Bride’s Parents:
•    Ceremony rental fee
•    Bride’s dress and accessories
•    Ceremony flowers and décor
•    Bouquets for bridesmaids and flower girl
•    Photography and videography
•    Engagement party
•    Bridesmaids’ luncheon
•    All vendor services for reception, including food, beverages, décor, and entertainment
•    Groom’s ring
•    Invitations and stationery
•    Transportation for bridal party to and from ceremony and reception

Wedding Costs Paid by the Groom and/or Groom’s Parents:
•    Marriage license and officiant’s fee
•    Groom’s attire
•    Bride’s bouquet, boutonnieres for ushers, and corsages for mothers and grandmothers
•    Honeymoon Travel
•    Rehearsal dinner
•    Bachelors’ dinner
•    Both of the bride’s rings

0032Costs Incurred by the Wedding Attendants:
•    Their own attire, including shoes and accessories
•    Bridal party hosts bridal shower and bachelorette party
•    Groom’s party hosts the bachelor party

Good evening from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  Before I share Cathy & Alex’s wedding day and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California that blogs like a mad man.  Feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

So as I’m burning the midnight oil at Esquire Photography HQ in Huntington Beach – getting caught up on blogging the 5 weddings and the Dance Masters’ Fusion Shoot that I did in the past 2 weeks, I really wanted to share one more event before I call it a day.

Just over a week ago on October 10th, I had the honour of photographing Cathy & Alex’s wedding at the Westminster Manor in — you probably guessed it… Westminster, California.  I was able to shoot side-by-side with a terrific videographer too; John M.G.  And, let me tell you – it was such a treat to work with a fellow shooter that understands how to work with another & be cognizant of each other’s lines-of-sight.

Cathy and Alex had some additional special celebrations in their day too.  They gave a necklace to their son during the ceremony – in honour of him and their family’s love for each other.  And, during the reception, Cathy & Alex presented Cathy’s son with a terrific autographed and framed piece of art as it was his birthday (literally) on their wedding day.

Mr. Albert Lopez from Alberts Event Services led an impeccable staff that attended to everyone’s needs during the ceremony & reception while Saul & Mario from Mario B. Entertainment Group spun tunes that kept the place hopping through the night.

Their wedding was beautiful, the ceremony a blast with a TON of laughs and good times and… Cathy & Alex allotted for some time so we could all go to the beach after their wedding ceremony and capture some of my signature artistic and romantic portraits on the sand and up on a lifeguard station.  Can we say – suh-weet!

So without further ado, here is slide show of their wedding day and have a super rest of your West Coast Wednesday – cheers!

Good evening from Huntington Beach, California where Esquire Photography Headquarters is currently at this hour – thumping to Pete Tong at the Wonderland Ibiza Opening Party that happened on May 6th in – you guessed it – Ibiza. Yeah!

As I’m charging through this week getting caught up on blogging the 5 weddings and the Dance Masters’ Fusion Shoot that I did in the past 2 weeks & then getting nasty sick with the flu – I couldn’t wait to share Callie & Mike’s wedding with you that I shot at the Wedgewood Golf Course in Ventura, California

Friday, October 9th originally started off in Mission Viejo for the Dance Masters Fusion Shoot at the Newhart Middle School, but I was wrapped up by noon & then swiftly (or as quickly as the Southern California traffic would allow) headed up to Ventura for Callie & Mike’s wedding day.

Callie & Mike had an intimate wedding in Ventura with their closest friends and family, but trust me – that didn’t keep them from having a great time with some unexpected surprises for everyone to enjoy.  Like when Mike whipped around on the green with his men on a golf cart for his grand entrance to the ceremony.  Or the delicious, individually wrapped brownies that Callie & Mike had for their weddings guests at the reception.  All this wrapped with a beautiful wedding ceremony, some killer signature night romantic portraits on the green and the top-shelf service from the staff at the Wedgewood Golf Course – made for a perfect wedding day.

But before I present you with a collection of some of my favourite photos from Callie & Mike’s wedding day and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.
