0007Good morning out of Huntington Beach, California everyone!  If you weren’t at the Orange County Wine & Food Center in Costa Mesa last night, then you totally missed an excellent event overflowing with refreshing wines and succulent flavours for your palete of this incredible season.

There was everything from over 100 chilled white wines and roses to cooling cocktails and tantalizing gourmet hors d’oeurves using only the freshest ingredients.  They served up crispy white corn and summer truffle croustillante “Explosions,” heirloom tomato, oyster & fresh wasabi shooters, mini-kobe beef tartare “tacos” with white soy Bearnaise and some surprises by Chef Paul.  Basically everything that will make for the perfect Mid-Summer Night!

I showed up with my camera & I’m so glad I did, because I was able to capture a few photos of the event throughout the night.  If you missed this one, there’s The Cocktail Party coming up on Monday, August 24th with Chef Paul Squicciarini that you should check out.  They’ll have finger foods, hors d’oeuvres and a variety of other delicious items.

Here are a few of my favourite snaps from the event.  And, if you ever need a killer venue for your wedding or party, totally ring my up good friends Adam & Staci – they’ll roll out the red carpet for you – cheers!

dojopodcast-61x140Howdy howdy howdy from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  We’ve been getting quite a few questions from our listeners on Camera Dojo so we thought we would dedicate an episode to answer some of them.

Some great topics were covered too from posing different sized people using a variety of lenses that give you different perspectives in your shots some killer lighting ideas.

My good friend; Brian Noah asked me about shooting at different locations – one of which being a favourite of mine – Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.  We also covered how it is imperative to make sure you have the proper credentials to shoot on location (e.g.; permits) and some of my crazy insane “stealth” tactics for staying under the radar when shooting in public locations.

Definitely check out the show notes on Camera Dojo for a few more bits.  You can also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes by clicking the button below & have a super West Coast Wednesday – cheers!

Can… you… hear… me!! I’m sending everyone a shout out from behind the Orange Curtain in Huntington Beach, California on this awesome West Coast Wednesday.

As a creative mind that never really shuts down, I find myself sometimes so totally overflowing with ideas that I just want to go to the edge of the sand & scream, explode or go nuclear because I can’t process everything fast enough to make it happen.

Recently when I was watching/listening to my video mix from DJ Chuckie with TMF on my iPod whilst getting agro on the cardio machine – I saw a video mix that struck a chord in me.  It’s a song by Enrique Iglesias that I totally love.  It’s titled; “Can You Hear Me” and it perfectly describes me when I’m going wild with ideas for photos, videos, songs, portraits, pretty much anything that is creative.

And, with the completion of a very huge fine art study shoot in glamour, fashion & boudoir that I did this week (coming live on the site very soon!) – I kept hearing this song in my head.  And, when I looked for it on You Tube, I found a behind the scenes clip that is really cool too. It totally shows some of the work that goes into the craziness that it takes to create a piece of art. Which is really awesome as it took nearly 5 hours of principal photography and 5 1/2 hours of post production for me to create 46 incredibly beautiful, haunting and stunning photos from the shoot.

So sit back & enjoy the behind the scenes video of “Can You Hear Me” by Enrique Iglesias (with a LINK to the full copyrighted version on You Tube) and have a fantastic West Coast Wednesday – cheers!

0002Good afternoon as I’m back in my office in Huntington Beach after I got agro on the cardio machine at 24 Hour Fitness everyone! I just received a great note about a fantastic testimonial from Kim about her Engagement Shoot that we just did on and around Main Street in Huntington Beach, California.

“I met David about a year ago at a Ducati Fashion show at Spectrum Ducati. We became friends having many chats about motorcycles and shopping! I recently discovered a long term friend of mine and I were, well “meant to be” and after he proposed to me my mind immediately went to David and having an Engagement Shoot done.

0001We met up on a hazy Saturday morning in downtown Huntington Beach and went to work! After the hour session flew by we were left in the wake of ocean side humidity and beautiful photography!

I think the only argument David and I have left to duke out is that I want him at my wedding being the fantastic friend he is, but he wants to be there working! hahaha!

Either way, I’m sure we’ll work something out as there is no one else I would trust to make my fiance and I look like proper rock stars!”

Good evening from semi-hot Huntington Beach, California (the not too small beach community with no too much summer heat… uh huh)!

Have a got a beautiful wedding to share with you.  Last week I received a phone call from my good friend Jeremy at Lucero Photography, Inc. if I was available to shoot with him yesterday.  I told him that I had Kim & Pete’s Engagement Shoot, but needed to see if I could move the start time.  Kim & Pete were super cool & we moved their start time up a bit & voila – I was able to shoot with Jeremy.

Mary Ann & Basem’s ceremony was at Arch Angel Michael Church in Santa Ana & the reception was held at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, California.  Both locations are perfect for anyone that would like to have traditional Greek Orthodox wedding and red-carpet location for your reception.

There are so many bits that happened today from the “Hi-Fi boom box” we had rockin tunes on a Blackberry while the guys were getting ready, to the Rolls Royce stretch limo to the stunning lighting and music filling the ballroom from Huey from Platinum Peaks and Allison and her staff with their impeccable service from Balboa Bay Club – it was needless to say a perfect day.  Jeremy and I even had the pleasure of shooting side-by-side with Tom from Film My Wedding.  Which I have to say is always refreshing to work with a professional that understands we all have to “get the shot” during our day.

I hope you enjoyed some of my favourites from their wedding day & have a super weekend – cheers!

    Beautiful, happy and fun pictures!
    Great work!

On this same day I did my very first ever wedding shoot!
And you know what? It was you guys – Kerry and you, Sir David Esquire – that inspired me to give wedding photography a try.
During one of Camera Dojo’s podcasts you guys adviced to ask a wedding photographer to second him on a shoot… and so I did.
It was an adrenaline rollercoaster but I’m trully amazed by the experience!
Thank you both for the inspiration!
