0004Good evening from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  I just got in a little while ago from a very special Engagement  Shoot.  My sister; Tawnya & her fiance’: Kurt asked me to be their wedding photographer for their upcoming wedding in October and we just did their Engagement Shoot today at a couple of very special locations.

First! They’re both a couple of pretty big Angels fans so it only seemed fitting for the two of them to want to have part of their Engagement Shoot at the Angels’ Stadium in Anaheim.  I had met them there after Kurt got off work and that was where the fun totally started.  We were able to go onto the field, into the dugout and all around the key hot spots in the stadium.  It’s my first time being down on the field and it was a blast.  They even brought their son; Aiden with them to partake in some of the photos.

Afterward we wrapped our time at the Angels’ stadium, we headed to Del Taco for a quick bite & then off to Belmont Shore for some street shooting with at stop-off at Murphy’s, which is a favourite pub of theirs.  The Stroll & Savour was going on – on 2nd Street, so we veered off & headed down some of the residential streets to capture some gorgeous sunset portraits.  I used to live in Belmont Shore & I do believe that some of the sunsets in that town are magical.

The entire shoot was filled with a variety of artistic, romantic and sexy portraits from both locations.  Once we wrapped the shoot, we headed to the Shorehouse Cafe for some dinner & voila – here I am sharing their story with you.  Feel free to enjoy some of my favourites from their Engagement Shoot & I hope that this really shows that just about anything is possible for an Engagement Shoot – cheers!

MichaelClarkGood afternoon from all over Southern California everyone!  I’m in-between appointments today & just got word from Kerry that the podcast we recorded on Camera Dojo just went live a few moments ago on this crazy West Coast Wednesday.

For this episode, we chatted with Michael Clark who is an awesome and I do mean AWESOME adventure sports photographer. Michael shares his thoughts about what it takes to be an adventure sports photographer along with some of his ’secret sauce’ that he uses in some of his work.

If you want to listen to the entire conversation we had with him – you can stream it on Camera Dojo or you can subscribe to the podcast by clicking the button below and check out more than a year’s worth of other episodes we’ve done together.

I’m off to my next appointment & have a super West Coast Wednesday – cheers!

Happy West Coast Wednesday from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  I’m feeling a little “Moby’ish” this morning & as I was thinking of some different tunes that he has done, this one seemed to stick out today.

It’s the James Bond theme song from Moby and not only is it cool, but it’s been redone into so many different techno and trance versions.  In fact!  As I was looking for a good copy of the video by Moby, I found this anime/Japanimation version that I wanted to share instead.

So sit back, enjoy your West Coast Wednesday Video of the week & have a super morning – cheers!

0011Happy almost West Coast Wednesday everyone!  I just got in from being a “working guest” at an awesome Hospitality Night that my good friends; Adam & Staci hosted over at the Orange County Wine & Food Center in Costa Mesa.

They put this event together for people involved in the service industry and there was so much going on to check out or enjoy.

The ladies from Spa Gregorie’s out of Newport Beach was there helping out with free hand, arm & should massages.  Crystal Creations and Carving Ice both out of Anaheim had ice sculptures keeping some of the wine chilled, Izanagi Designs, Inc. had one of the rooms transformed into a really cool illuminated “club” to chillax in and Robin Wardall Catering (714.432.0778) was there with some delicious gourmet cupcakes.

There was a bit of friendly gambling going on in the casino and even a cooking class hosted by Chef Paul too.  Let me tell you – what he was turning out in the kitchen looked seriously grub!  And, Jason Weber played smooth tunes throughout the entire event without a break for everyone to enjoy his sax & clarinet styles.

Here are a few snaps from tonight’s adventure & I hope you’re having a super week – cheers!

0069Happy hot Saturday in Huntington Beach, California everyone!  I just got back in from doing a special request for my good friends at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbour in San Pedro.

When we had lunch earlier this week, Carolyn & Vicki asked me if I would be available today to do a few set-up shots of a room that they’re having decorated.  I was so honoured that they asked me to do that for her, I quickly made some changes to my calendar so I could pop up to San Pedro & capture the beautiful lighting that they had set up in their main banquet room.

Here are a few of my favourites from their room that I photographed today and as you can see – the lighting was amazing!  If you ever need a beautiful room for your reception and a staff that will roll out the red carpet for you, definitely give the team at the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbour a call.  You’ll be happy you did – cheers!
