Good morning from Huntington Beach – where it seems that my wedding season for this year, 2011 and all the way into 2012 – just after the London Olympics is about to not only take off — but really be a wild and fun ride.  I feel so blessed that quite a few couples have invited me into their lives to be capture the memories that will be happening throughout the process.

And, since I’ve been traveling down memory lane a lot lately – I’ve been listening to quite a few heavy metal and big hair bands of the ’80s.  Can I just say that some of the heavy metal bands from the ’80s totally and I mean like totally tubular rock.  Wholly guacamole!

So here’s one that I really think rocked the entire past two decades even with quite a few bad things happening along their career as a band…

I’m turning the clock back not to the ’90s, not to the ’80s, but all the way back to the ’70s.  The year is 1977 and in month of November, the first Def Leppard rehearsal takes place in a spoon factory near Bramall Lane, Sheffield (UK). Lead singer Joe Elliott, bass player Rick “Sav” Savage, guitarist Pete Willis, and drummer Tony Kenning just renamed the band from Deaf Leopard (a name first coined by Joe Elliott at school in 1975) to Def Leppard. At Christmas, the band perform their first gig for six friends. Six songs are played, including covers by David Bowie, Thin Lizzy and their own original “MISTY DREAMER”.

But before I present you with this week’s feature of my West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this rockin Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

So without further ado, I give you Photograph (how appropriate huh!!!) by Def Leppard for this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  And, don’t just have an awesome West Coast Wednesday, but make it a positive one for someone else too – cheers!

PS, the graphic and photo are both from Def Leppard’s website as well.  I did not take the photo or create the image.  Although I wish I did – both are classics.

Good Morning Everyone! I’m going to be heading to Hawaii in a couple of weeks and wanted to see if any other photographers would like to get to get together for a mini Iron Sharpens Iron workshop.

This would be a great opportunity for us that are serious about our craft and want to help each other learn how to pose ourselves in front of the camera, learn how to explain to someone in front of the camera what you want them to do in your vision in a fun and playful manner.  And, have a good time doing it in one of the most amazingly beautiful places in the world.

Plus keeping us from becoming the dreaded McTographer!

Then afterwards if anyone wants to hang out – we can have a bite to eat and perhaps a beverage with an umbrella. Yummy!

There is no fee (As in FREE!) and is open to anyone that wants to learn & sharpen their skills as a photographer.  Also, I’m going to be staying on Honolulu at the Hale Koa at 2055 Kalia Road & the current date & time of the workshop is on Monday, April 5th from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

If anyone is interested, please send me an email as soon as possible as I would like to get all the details in order for this and would like to keep the group to a max of no more than ten.  Shoot me a note as soon as possible either on my Contact Me page through the website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also reach me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.  Or get old school & send me a text message to my iPhone at 562.225.5915.

I hope everyone is having a great start to their week and I look forward to seeing some of you soon – cheers!

Memory lane was open today in Huntington Beach for two reasons.

One reason was I recently met at WPPI last week and am becoming good friends with a fantastic photographer on the East Coast.  If you ever and I mean ever wondered if I had a “separated at birth” person out there on this planet, I would have to say with a resounding yessssss.  Her name is Valerie Schooling and she works with a team of fantastic photographers at Charleston Wedding Photographers.

Our similarities are literally so freaky that other friends of mine at WPPI were asking us how long we’ve known each other & because we met at the end of the trip – we were saying; “like 2 days ago.”  LOL!

So when she told me about how she named her car Dolores after Dolores O’Riordan from The Cranberries after I told her that I named my car; Rio after the song & album by Duran Duran, I about tripped out.  Because just a few weeks ago I shared with you Linger with both Dolores O’Riordan from the Cranberries and Simon Le Bon from Duran as the West Coast Wednesday Videos Of The Week.

The other reason for memory lane is that back when The Cranberries came out, I was up in Portland shooting and working with various bands as a drummer.  Along with enjoying some of the best beers, food, movies and clubbing in the Northwest.  So I guess it seemed only fitting to share a Cranberries song with you for this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.

The song is Dreams by The Cranberries – which is one of those songs that I don’t seem to ever get tired of.  Dolores’ ethereal voice is haunting and beautiful – reminiscent of Justine Suissa from Oceanlab; an absolutely amazing vocal trance group from London.  Which I’m sure Valerie will disagree with as she favours; Berlin – but, IMO London is the most amazing and creative city in the world, but that’s just me.  I love the culture, architecture, and history.

But before I present you with this week’s feature of my West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this eclectic Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.

So without further ado, I give you Dreams by The Cranberries for this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  And, don’t just have an awesome West Coast Wednesday, but make it a positive one for someone else too – cheers!

Good Evening Everyone!  I’m officially back in my office in Huntington Beach after a phenomenal trip to Las Vegas for WPPI and wanted to share some thoughts with you.  BUT!  I’m not going to type it in my blog posting to you, but rather share a video with you that I recorded late Sunday night/early Monday morning.

If you’d like to see some of the nearly 3,000 photos that I shot as a Pictagerazzi for the great people at Pictage – totally check out my Facebook Fan Page.  I have so many to share with you, that it just seemed a lot faster to share them there.

This year’s WPPI took on a whole new meaning for me with the fostering of new friendships, building current ones and some very huge personal and professional break throughs.  One break through that happened inspired me both personally & professionally and that is to continue being true to yourself.  I was in an intimate group situation with fellow photographer; Jesh De Rox inspiring each other, reassuring each other that we’re not in this crazy world alone and it hit me like a 747 landed on me.  That it is ok to be who you are through & through.  I strive for it, but sometimes miss the mark & I’ll be doing more of my best to be “me” – which is such an incredibly fun thing.

So even though I’m still diggin myself out from all the correspondence and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.  Or get old school & send me a text message to my iPhone.

And, speaking of iPhones – the video was shot on my iPhone and there was no post done to it as well.

Have a super night & stay tuned for more good things coming your way (like the McTographer T Shirts!) – cheers!

Good Evening Everyone!  I just finished loading up the Mini and I wanted to drop you a note to let you know that I’ll be out of EP HQ, returning on Tuesday, March 16th.

I’m heading out tomorrow morning to the The Wedgewood Banquet Center in Ventura, California for Angela & Mike’s Wedding (You may remember them with their Engagement Shoot back in January) and then straight to Lost Wages for WPPI that I’m attending & being a Pictagerazzi for the great people at Pictage.

What’s really cool is a lot of the photos that I’m shooting as a Pictagerazzi will be streaming live online for anyone who attends the show and can order prints for free.  Sah-weet!

WPPI is the largest conference and expo in the world for professional photographers.  One of the coolest things other than all the soirees is getting to hang out with my friends & colleagues from around the world.  There are also all kinds of photo shoots around the city along with business classes to attend that will help me catch up on the latest trends in the art and science of photography.

So even though I’m heading out of town and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California, feel free to Contact Me on the Website or send me an email direct at david@esquirephotography.com.  You can also stay in touch with me in “real time” on Twitter, Facebook and my Facebook Fan Page too.  Or get old school & send me a text message to my iPhone.

I hope you’re having a great West Coast Wednesday & stay tuned as the T Shirts For Photographers From A Photographer goes live in the next 24 hours – cheers!
