Good afternoon & Happy New Year from Esquire Photography HQ everyone!

With a new year before us, I believe it’s a good thing to reflect on the year behind us with our accomplishments, memories, learning experiences, and for me – fashion trends.

One of the things that was really awesome was what Esquire Photography partner: Shelly at Simply Bridal shared of the Top 10 Engagement Rings of 2013.

Well now she’s put together a great wedding tip infographic of the Biggest Bridal Trends of 2013.

Newport Beach Wedding Photographer

‘Twas the night before New Years
And all through the house,
The girlfriend was angry
She wasn’t a spouse!

She hoped for the joy
That Christmas would bring.
But Christmas had passed,
And she still had no ring!

They’d been together
For over two years.
Long-term commitment-
That must be his fear.

She thought, “That’s the reason
That I’m still single.
I’m breaking it off!
Then the phone gave a jingle.

“Come outside,” said the voice,
And then went away.
She opened the door,
And there was a sleigh!

He whisked her away,
Grinned like a fox
Got down on one knee
And opened the box.

T’was the first day of New Year
Her eyes opened wide.
“Yesterday, I’m a girlfriend.
Today, I’m a bride!”

She started to panic
“There’s so much to do!
To plan a whole wedding.
before I can say I do?”

Then she remembered
the bridal show ad
and suddenly she
Felt tremendously glad!

Her eyes, how they twinkled!
Her smile seemed to glow!
“I Can plan everything
At the upcoming Bridal Show!

Reception hall! Caterer!
Florist and tux!
Save money, save time,
And no acid reflux!

With Planners and designers,
Rentals and more
Door prizes, honeymoons
And gifts galore

Plus with a whole
18 hours to shop
We’ll save tons of money
and shop till we drop!

Limo! DJ!
Photographer & Gown!
I won’t have to be running
all over town!

So she called her attendants
To the show they all flew.
Ate catering samples
And wedding cake, too!

And I heard her exclaim
Holding prizes she won,
“I found all that I need
Now my planning is done!”

Newport Beach Wedding Photographer David Esquire Family Baby PortraitsGood afternoon from Esquire Photography HQ and with only a couple days left in 2013, I still have so much that I want to share with you.  Like the trip I took at the beginning of October to visit my youngest brother: Tony and his wife: Annie after their bouncing baby girl: Roxy was born in Minnesota.

My trip to Minnesota had a stop-off in Chicago before I landed where I was able to enjoy some Gold Coast Dogs for breakfast at 5:30 a.m. Which happens to be voted the BEST hot dogs in Chicago, and I know, when I lived in Chicago – I would have one or two a week.  They’re totally amazing!

Now I know Chicago is not even close to being en route to Minnesota, but I scored a totally cheap ticket and knowing that I was stopping at O’Hare International Airport – there would be an opportunity for some great eats & do some shopping.

After I landed in Minneapolis and my brother; Tony picked me up to head to their home where I pretty much crashed out on their couch while Tony went back to the hospital to pick up Annie & their daughter; Roxy.

Roxy is a very special little lady for our family because we haven’t had a girl in our family tree since our mother.  So yup – I was going to rearrange my calendar & coordinate a flight to meet her.

My trip to Minnesota was filled with so many new memories, new and tasty eats, like a pretty solid pizza and my MEGA White Castles!  And, on top of it – I had the opportunity to film a new program starring my brother: Tony that was filmed entirely on my Google Glass & Apple iPhone 5s.  The latter of all of them is still in production and will be shared with you VERY soon and included in my presentation at Compton High School at my next presentation.

To say that it was tough leaving to go back to So Cal would be a lie.  Also, to say that I haven’t gone a day where I didn’t think about moving EPHQ to Minnesota to be closer to my brother, his totally cool wife; Annie and their precious daughter and my little niece: Roxy, that would be a lie too.

ALSO!  You’ll see in the video how Roxy is probably one of the youngest fans of Duran Duran!

Newport Beach Wedding Photographer Carriage WeddingGood evening from Esquire Photography HQ and have I got a totally romantic and gorgeous wedding to share with you!

Just a couple weeks ago I had the honour of photographing Marilyn & David’s wedding in Los Angeles & let me just say this was a wedding for the books.  Just how we all met is one of those stories that I totally love!

I first met Marilyn “virtually” through Facebook earlier this year when I returned from photographing Denise & Miguel’s Wedding in Costa Rica.  She had seen my photography on my Facebook Fan Page and we totally hit it off from there.

One of the things that I really loved that Marilyn & David did for their wedding – was their attention to detail and the personal touches they put into their wedding day.

Like their timeline was totally dialed in.  That alone helped make their wedding day so much relaxed and fun for everyone.  But that’s only the beginning!

Check this out – Marilyn had a blue heart sewn into her wedding dress from David’s Bridal, she had worn her Grandmother’s wedding ring along with her Grandmother’s locket containing a photo of her Grandmother sewn onto her absolutely gorgeous bouquet her mom made!

Then there was David & his men looking totally sharp in their tuxedos from Friar Tux and the totally dreamy horse & carriage provided by Enchanted Carriages.

Their sunset wedding was overlooking a pond at Porter Valley Country Club, which was, as you’ll see in their photos in the video – creating such a riot of colour for their photos.  Then after their ceremony, Marilyn & David were whisked away by their horse & carriage for us to be able to have fun capturing portraits with the bridal party along with my signature romantic portraits.

Their reception was in the grand ballroom annnnnnnnnnnd that was when the party kicked off.  From the surprise dance Marilyn planned with her dad, to the surprisingly teary-eyed honeymoon dance and epic group photo we did with all their friends & family before the cake cutting – Marilyn & David’s wedding reception was an incredible time.

I was even able to sneak Marilyn & David out for some of my Signature Night Romantic Portraits during their reception.  YEAH!

Before you scroll down to check out the video I put together with a few of my favourite photographs & videos I captured on my Canon DSLR AND on Google Glass, and you would like to chat about your upcoming event or wedding – totally comment below or feel free to contact me anytime day or night.  I’m available on TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.
