Good Evening Everyone!  I just got in from Jennifer & Paul’s wedding rehearsal & dinner at their home and The Hilton Garden Inn and couldn’t wait to share some of the photos that I shot this afternoon when I was on a walkabout in downtown Suffolk.

I typically don’t have much time out for personal projects or creative impromptu shoots – but I was able to sneak in a couple of hours walking around before I met up with Jennifer & Paul for their evening’s events.

Here are a few of my favourite shots from today & I hope you enjoy them as much as I did capturing them – cheers!

donotdisturbGood Morning Everyone! I’m not writing a note from the OC in Huntington Beach, but from my hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Suffolk, Virgina (which is amazing & where Jennifer & Paul are having their reception at too!).

After an arduous trip of delays, missing flight attendants, broken planes and a first flight of positivity and customer service deficient staff with Delta (the flight attendants had a gnarly case of the “crusties” as I like to call it and everyone on the plane was making a good time out of it!), I am rested and ready for an amazing weekend.

If you need to reach me, feel free to drop me an email or leave me a voice mail as I’ll be location scouting today & attending the rehearsal/BBQ festivities with Jennifer & Paul along with their friends & family.

Have a terrific Memorial Day weekend & I’ll see everyone when I get back – cheers!

Listen Now! This WeekGood Afternoon Everyone! I just got back in from lunch with my “Seester” Tawnya to chat about her wedding photography ideas that I have for her and I had a fantastic email waiting for me.

If you saw my update yesterday on Twitter or Facebook, then you may have seen that I was interviewed by a good friend of mine & colleague in the “biz” – Sara France.  She is the host of a very popular podcast for Pictage & they wanted to have me on for this week’s show.

On the podcast I was able to chat about the community on Camera Dojo that we’re creating along with sharing the importance of having a trust-based relationship with your clients.  In today’s day & age, trust & relationships seem to be hopping in the back seat with customer service and I really wanted to help others know that those are three very key cornerstones to what we do.

If you’d like to listen to the podcast or subscribe to it, just click the button below & you’ll be able to check it out on iTunes.

I hope you’re having as great of a West Coast Wednesday as I am – cheers!

genehiga_fsbGood Morning Everyone!  I’m coming to you straight out of the OC in Huntington Beach with today’s conversation on Camera Dojo.

Today we chat with destination wedding photographer; Gene Higa about how to discover and then promote your own niche or uniqueness in your business – whether it be in photography or another arena.

Discovering your niche is a topic that should apply to any type of photographer, not just wedding photographers as everyone should try to find what separates them from others and makes themselves unique.

Also!  Gene has an awesome 3 day Wedding Photography Workshop in the Chanti Hills of Tuscany on October 27-29, 2009.  He’s teaming up with his good friend & colleague of mine; Jose Villa and I’m sure that if you’re able to make it, it’s going to be an experience of a life time.

You can listen to and also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes by clicking the button below.  Also! We’re coming up on our 1 year anniversary & we haven’t missed a week yet! So there is pleanty of content for you to check out.

I hope you’re having a great West Coast Wednesday – cheers!

Good Morning Everyone!  It’s that magical time of the year as we’re all running at break-neck speeds to stop, sit back and enjoy our favourite morning beverage with this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.

Well I have a treat for  you coming straight out of the OC in Huntington Beach.  And it’s not just any artist or band that is a one hit “Oneder” passing through.  This week’s artist is the inspiring Annie Lennox.

She & Dave Stewart had the killer band in the 80’s – Eurythmics and then she eventually went on to do a very successful solo career and Dave Stewart went on to have just as successful a career in producing & other musical projects.

So since her story has two parts, I thought it would be fitting to share two videos with you.  Check out Little Bird Live in London and Here Comes The Rain Again she performed live with Dave Stewart and have a super West Coast Wednesday – cheers!
