Good Evening Everyone! I just got in from our first wedding of 2009 with Megan and Jim along with nearly 230 of their closest friends & family.

Megan and Jim’s wedding day started off in downtown Long Beach at The Renaissance Hotel where each of them had their own suites as they put on their final touches.  Jim had picked up some incredible cravats in London for his Brooks Brothers Tuxedo and the men were dressed to the nines in Friar Tux’s sharpest threads too.  Jim had a tough decision (well kinda…) of deciding on using standard cuff links or some killer cuff links that he picked up from Ireland.  Hmmm… the decisions!

When I headed up to Megan’s suite, I finally had the time to really check out her wedding gown.  It’s a one-of-a-kind wedding gown that is 105 years old!  Awesome!  Megan looked radiant as if she just stepped out of a movie from the silver screen era & her counterparts had some good laughs playing; smell no, hear no, speak no, see no evil.

After everyone was ready, Megan and Jim had a private moment together with their first glance at each other prior to their wedding.  This gave them both an opportunity to take in their day and share it with each other before everything really got going.

Their ceremony was held at the Bayshore Church in Long Beach where every pew was jam packed with people from all around – except for the entire pew that Jill at Bayshore Church gave Jeff from Prism Eye Productions and I the perfect spot to capture the wedding party coming down the aisle.

After the ceremony we did some traditional and fun portraits with the family & bridal party and then it was time to get silly.  Everyone left Bayshore Church & headed to downtown Long Beach in front of The Madison Restaurant so we could do some portraits with the downtown holiday lights in the background and another little secret spot that I like to go to.

Megan & Jim’s reception was held at The Madison Restaurant where Christina and her staff ensured that everyone’s desires were met.  The Madison was wall to wall guests AND a small jazz/big band/swing band too!  It was completely hopping all night long.

I must say though, today would not have been possible if it weren’t for the incredible talent of our partner; Linda from A Wedding Store – where she orchestrated a completely flawless day from start to finish.  If you ever want to take a load off your shoulders and have your wedding be perfect, you need to call Linda ASAP.

Here is a small sample of what I captured through my lens today & I hope you enjoy it as much as I did capturing their wedding day.  Cheers!

Happy New Year Everyone! We are so excited to share this holiday with you and we’re so very excited to see what the new year has in store for all of us.

Since you know about our West Coast Wednesday Videos Of The Week, we thought we would start the new year off with a special video for you. This video sums up a lot of the feelings that we had in 2008 & as we move forward into a new year, we are anticipating so many positive changes locally, regionally, and globally.

Michael Jackson once said it starts with the man in the mirror & we believe he was truly on to something. Let’s all start 2009 with making some positive changes in ourselves and branch out from there. We shared with you that we believe in not just paying it forward or backward, but we believe in living spherically. What you do, think and say resounds spherically all around you and those you impact. So we’re very careful with all of our thoughts and actions on how they will reflect eternity.

Take a moment after this video of Miracle by Oceanlab out of the UK to reflect on the wonderful blessings you have had in 2008 & then think about how you can make a difference in the future.

May your lives going forward be filled with an overabundance of love, laughter and happiness that is shared with your friends and family.

And, from all of us at Esquire Photography – Happy New Year & may God bless you with all your heart’s true desires – Cheers!

  • Wedding Tip Of The Week With Esquire Photography | Esquire Photography - […] I had the honour of being introduced to Moby back in ‘91 and was inamourate of his music, creativity & artistry since then.  For me, this year is about inspiration, beauty, love, kindness, peace and harmony and I can think of several songs by Moby that encapsulate this – but I really liked how this next video had a similar theme to the Oceanlab video I shared with you on New Year’s Day. Happy Holidays Everyone! Today, I (David) would like to dedicate this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week Holiday Edition On Christmas Eve to my late mother; Reina Francis Feleciano.

She was the catalyst of inspiration and technique when I was growing up learning about fine arts and how Einstein once said; “Creativity is more important than knowledge.” I’m paraphrasing of course, but if you understand that statement, you know how brilliant and powerful it is.

She was a strong woman that did her best to raise three boys amidst everything in this world pushing back. So this year, I dedicate the following song to her in honour. It’s performed by a dynamic vocal group; Il Divo and it’s “Amazing Grace.”

I know you’re in a better place and someday in the future, I want get behind the camera with you again. I miss you & love you very much.

Happy Christmas Mom!

David
