Good evening from caffeinated HQ of Esquire Photography in Orange County everyone!  I’m one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who is totally totally stoked to bring you Duran Rex’s Wedding Tip Tuesday.  :-)

With the average wedding cost at over $25,000, it’s no wonder tackling the wedding photography is one of the most overwhelming tasks on your to-do list.  BUT!  I’ve rounded up a few steps to help you put it all in perspective and build a plan of attack.

Your wedding photography will provide a long-lasting remembrance of one of the happiest days of your life. The right professional photographer should deliver a complete selection of photographs that tell the full story of your day.

To help select your professional photographer, keep these thoughts in mind: Hire a professional, don’t trust your wedding memories to a friend with a camera. Interview as many photographers and review as many wedding photographs as you can to find the style you like. Reserve your photographer as early as possible. The best photographers tend to be booked months in advance.

Here are some simple questions to ask too:

  • What packages are offered?
  • How many photos are included in each package?
  • Are the “proofs” yours to keep?
  • Is there a set number of reprints you must order?
  • What is the cost for additional time or photos?
  • How much is the deposit and when is it due?
  • When is the balance due?
  • Is there a travel charge?
  • Are the digital files / negatives available to purchase?  What is the resolution?
  • If so, do you have to wait a specified time before you can purchase them?

Most importantly, view his or her photographs. See if you like the style of photography and you seem to interact well with the possible photographer. Book as early as possible, some popular dates go quickly.   Trust me I know!  I’m already getting booked into 2013 for weddings & events.

Good evening & Happy Cinco de Mayo from Esquire Photography HQ in Orange County everyone!  I’m one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who’s totally excited to share Laura & Josh’s Fallbrook wedding I recently photographed down in San Diego with you.

As I’m sure you’re aware, I capture quite a few photographs around the world from; Engagement Shoots, Portraits and Weddings for some absolutely incredible couples.  And, when I say a lot, I tend to capture between 325,000 & 375,000 photographs each year.

But when I showed up in San Diego for Laura & Josh’s wedding at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club – I had no idea what I was in for.  Their wedding was quite literally one of the most emotionally loving, powerful and spiritual weddings I’ve had the honour of photographing with them and some of their closest family & friends.

Also, if Laura & Josh sound familiar to you, it’s because you would have seen them in their really fun San Diego Engagement Shoot I photographed down at La Jolla shores beaches.  Totally check it out!

I definitely want to mention that Laura & Josh put the personal touches into their wedding day as well.  From Laura looking totally stunning in her Alfred Angelo Disney princess bride collection wedding dress & Anne Klein shoes, she also wore her Grandmother’s garter & slip, lace on her wedding dress is from her mom, the pearl necklace she wore is a gift from Josh.  AND!  If that wasn’t enough, check out this video I captured on my iPhone 4S about the penny inside her Grandmother’s garter that Laura wore:

Their gorgeous San Diego Wedding was utterly perfect.  From their romantic ceremony overflowing with tears of joy, to my Signature Romantic Portraits I photographed of Laura & Josh after the wedding ceremony & family portraits and the relaxed & fun wedding reception – their San Diego wedding was definitely an incredible day to remember.

I would like to say thank you to Michael, Aubree & Jessica at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club too – who led an army of professionals – making sure Laura & Josh’s San Diego wedding was absolutely perfect for me to photograph.  You guys totally rock!!!
