My career has been an exciting roller coaster too! It spans from the USA to England, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, India, Japan, Singapore, Costa Rica and Germany - photographing Grammy Award-winning bands like Duran Duran, X Games, commercial & fashion, contribute to a best-selling photography book, model for Ralph Lauren, teach & give motivational presentations in Elementary, High School & Colleges and had my photography & written work published in 4 languages across the planet.

Last week I flew to Southern California when I was there to photograph Laguna Beach High School’s week-long grad night with one of my oldest client’s Kathy at Activities So Cal, I had the totally MEGA opportunity to go to the park with Anna, Lee with Bald Thoughts,Bald Finance and Fly To The Game & Brother Timmy from Mr. Timmy’s Toy Reviews for some fun in the park for Baby Scarlett’s 1st day at the park.
I could go on about how awesome they are, but for me – Anna & Lee are like family & I think the fun we had at the park really shows in the video below.

PSS, One of the most awesome things about their photo shoot for me was Timmy feeling comfortable enough to turn “Crazy Uncle David” into a human jungle gym while I was shooting – which Lee totally snapped a photo of. LOL!

Good evening from Esquire Photography HQ! Have a got a totally romantic treat I photographed for you in Orange County, California.
I recently had the honour of (ONCE AGAIN!) working with Leah & Linsey from The Double Knot wedding & event planners for Jennifer & Nathan’s Tea Ceremony and Wedding.
If Leah & Linsey sound familiar, it’s because I have had the honour of photographing BOTH of their weddings, numerous other weddings & events over the past 10+ years and more recently – LeeAnne & Garrett’s Orange County Wedding.
As you know – Leah, Linsey and I have a long history of working some of the most gorgeous and romantic weddings & events in Southern California. So I knew when Jennifer & Nathan’s Tea Ceremony & Wedding Day day arrived – their event would definitely be on the top of our list.
When I arrived at Jennifer’s family’s home the morning of their wedding day, the air was already electric with romance as everyone was getting ready. Speaking of getting ready, Jennifer had a totally gorgeous red morning dress that was hand made just for her at Jenni’s Bridal and a beautiful jade necklace Jennifer’s grandmother in law purchased in China.
Everyone was buzzing along getting ready and once Nathan & his guys arrived for the traditional tests Nathan had to accomplish before the Tea Ceremony – that was when the laughter and fun really kicked in. Also, let’s just say, Nathan’s lucky because one of his guys had to “take one for the team” and drink the “yummy” coffee that was prepared if Nathan couldn’t complete a task quickly enough. I think the expressions in the faces showed off how delicious the coffee was – LOL!
After Nathan completed his tests, it was time for their Tea Ceremony and family portraits celebrating the coming together of the two families and celebrating each family’s legacy & history. One thing I love about traditional weddings is how it’s a reminder of one’s heritage and a respect for their family too.
Because of the large size of the family, we headed to another home for additional family portraits and a 2nd Tea Ceremony. Plus! Jennifer was able to change into her lovely wedding dress from David’s Bridal.
Without wasting a single second, everyone hopped into their cars and me in Rio the uber awesome MINI to “motor on!” swiftly to the Orange Hill Restaurant where I given the honour of coordinating a perfectly timed “first look” for Jennifer & Nathan.
Of course a first look isn’t complete without portraits, which was great because the light was absolutely perfect for me to capture a collection of my Signature Romantic Portraits with just the two of them.
To think the day couldn’t get any better would be very short sighted, because Jennifer & Nathan hired none other than the illuminating and effervescent Alan Katz with Great Officiants! Alan & I have worked together for nearly 10 years and he’s even one of the most popular guests on my program: “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” – where I help brides & grooms save time, money and their sanity planning their wedding.
With Alan conducting a flawless ceremony in front of a canvas of exquisite sunset colours of the hills of Orange County – Orange Hill Restaurant was the perfect location for Jennifer & Nathan’s wedding & reception.
Once their ceremony and family portraits were a wrap – Jennifer & Nathan’s family & guests were treated to a grand room filled with splashes of colour in every corner and fog billowing from their table’s center pieces.
I could continue to ramble on about all the fantastic details of their wedding and reception like the handmade figures on the wedding cake, Nathan performing for Jennifer, the epic toasts, decorating of their car and so much more. But I have a feeling the portraits I had the honour of capturing would speak much more colourful words than me.

Have I got a totally awesome treat for you today. Recently on one of my trips to Southern California when I was there to photograph Jen & Nathan’s wedding, I had an awesome opportunity to convince my good friends: Anna, Lee & Mr. Timmy from to head out for some fun portraits during one of the amazing sunsets we get in the OC (even though Anna was about to bring Baby Scarlett into the world any second!).

PSS, I wanted to share one of the most awesome things about their photo shoot is that 99% of their photo shoot was not “scripted” per-se. This is ONLY achievable through an awesome relationship people can have working together and getting to know one-another. :-)

David has been in “the biz” for pretty much as many years as I have been. He’s been in brand developing and digital infrastructure for record labels, production houses and artists creating new digital revenue streams for his labels, artists and production partners in the new digital age.

He is the epitome of cool and RWARRRWWW!! (as Duran Rex would say) and Jonny said yes to the shoot – I immediately shared the awesome news with David & well… as they say: “the rest is history.”

As you know – I’ve been taking Esquire Photography around the world from the USA to Europe, Asia & India and more recently – a new location in Minneapolis. Which means tons of new artists, creatives & business owners I’ve been chatting with & starting to work with. Whew Hew!
But! With all that wild & crazy action going on behind the scenes, I’ve been personally hand-retouching Trista & Jimmy’s wedding. And not just any wedding couple, but an awesome military couple who I was able to give my EPICMilitary Discount to.
I first met Trista & Jimmy at Nellie & Darrell’s San Diego Wedding I photographed back in 2011 – which was a blast. So when I received an email from Trista & Jimmy about their wedding – I was totally excited to say YES as I knew their wedding day would be just as fun.
Fun was definitely one way to describe the amount of fun we all had. From the stunning garden setting their wedding ceremony was set in at The Prado, to the photo-bombing of the portraits by a tourist group and my signature Night Romantic Portraits I was able to capture – Trista & Jimmy’s wedding day was perfect.
I could continue to write about the fun we had, but it totally pales in comparison to the photographs of their day.
