Good afternoon from Orange County everyone!  There are weddings and then there are “weddings.”  Well…This is one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that has one of “those” weddings for you & recently photographed in Anaheim and I have a feeling this wedding will get the emotions stirring in you as they do in me.

The Anaheim wedding I’m referring to is Amanda & John’s that I had the honour of being invited to photograph at the White House Event Center and freeze the memories of for the rest of their lives.  I was introduced to Amanda & John from my client & awesome friend; Ms. Kathy Miller at Activities So Cal – who also happens to be good friends with Amanda, John and their families.  Amanda & John wanted a photographer that not only could capture the day, but also would be a lot of fun to be around.  Hmmm… I wonder?!?  HeHeHe!

Through emails, phone calls and me making some personal visits to their home, I really got to know Amanda & John along with their family members that were involved in the wedding day planning.  Let me just share with you, that one of the things I love about being a photographer – is getting to know my brides & grooms along with their stories.  Especially since I’m a story teller myself, both in words and in photographs.

Fast forward to the big day and Amanda & John’s Anaheim wedding at the White House Event Center was nothing shy of incredible.  Amanda was totally stunning like an Audrey Hepburn movie in her wedding gown by Castle for Brides and John’s grandmother’s pearl necklace while John and his men were crispier than a plate of Nachos in their tuxedos from Friar Tux and brown Converse.

Anaheim’s very own; Amazing Cakes provided the delicious wedding cake, Amanda’s Aunt Elivra made all the beautiful floral arrangements and DJ Amal kept the reception rockin’ throughout the night.

Also, can I just say that once again Kathy and her entire team of expert professionals at Activities So Cal rocked it and made sure that Amanda & John’s Anaheim wedding day was completely perfect.  From the moment everyone arrived – to the last dance everything was perfect.  They even made sure the timeline was so dialed in, that there was a break in the night where I could invite Amanda & John out for me to do some of my signature Night Romantic portraits of them.

So!  Before you check out some of my favourite photographs from Amanda & John’s wedding at the White House Event Center  in Anaheim and you’re thinking…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you’re having a terrific “TRex Tuesday” and speaking of – be sure to pop over to my Facebook Fan Page for some of the latest fun photos with Esquire Photography’s mascot; “Duran Rex.”  He’s definitely been Getting Silly with everyone lately – cheers!

PS, If you’ve been keeping up with my Facebook and Twitter updates – then you have seen that I’ve brought on two new people to join me in Newport Beach to be a part of the Esquire Photography family.  YAY!

Here is the really cool part.  Both people joining me I’ve known for nearly 10 years. Crazy!  The first person I brought on board is Linda and she will be the official new “Client Concierge” handling a lot of the back end of the business and a lot of my correspondence.  Linda is a long time client, turned BFF for nearly 9 1/2 years.  She joined me this past week and is already keeping up with my awesome signature service I deliver to my clients.  I’m receiving all sorts of notes from brides – some of which saying: “OMG, I LOVE Linda!!” and “She should be a life coach!”  Uhmmm… can I just say; “Wholly Nachos & Newcastles!”

  • Twyla - David, All I can say is WOW!!!!! What a great presentation

  • David Esquire - Thanks so much for the note Twyla!!! Amanda & John and their family & friends were absolutely amazing & made what I do a total blast and so much fun! Plus the relationship/friendship/trust that we all had really helps create such amazing photographs. Now if I can find a way to clone them for future weddings. Hmmm…. :-)

Good afternoon from caffeinated Orange County everyone!  My name is David Esquire and I’m a caffeinated Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who loves Nachos & Newcastles, hanging out with friends, coffee, movies, Monster Zero beverages, 80’s music, trance music, dancing, photography, art and just about all things Duran Duran.

Wait, did I say 80’s?!?  Well… since I did – I have some really fun photos to share with you from Club 1984 in downtown Los Angeles.  Recently after a Laguna Beach Portrait Photo Shoot with Natalie for her Sweet 16 Birthday Party at the Westridge Golf Club that was coordinated by uber-awesome wedding planner; Monique with A Blissful Affair (who BTW was one of my totally rad brides I worked with for her La Habra Wedding), I received a note from my fellow 80’s, Tears For Fears, Duran Duran and just about all things creative & fun friend; Carrie – that she was in town with one of her BFFs and going to Club 1984.

Whew!  That was a run on, yet hopefully articulate sentence.  HeHeHe!

Well, I can’t turn down hanging out with a friend who’s in town and so I jumped into Rio, headed back to Esquire Photography HQ (previously in Huntington Beach), backed up Natalie’s photos and because I always have a camera charged & ready to go – ran out the door to meet up with Carrie & her BFF at Club 1984 in Los Angeles.

Needless to say – the night was awesome & taken it to the HNL because Stacey Q and Trans X performed and even the world famous Richard Blade was hosting the night and spinning a little.  Can I get a “Wholly Nachos & Newcastles!

Just a little while ago today after I got off the phone with my Birthday Brother; Jason (who was chatting with me when I took the Photograph of Duran Rex watching Duran Duran’s Arena video on the iPad) – I put together a fun slide show to share with you.  Plus I thought it only seemed appropriate as Carri is back in town today and a bunch of us are getting together after the Tears For Fears concert at the Wiltern Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.  Which I just saw is now sold out as I was writing this for you.  This is definitely deserving of a Keanu Reeves; “WHOA!“.

So!  Before you check out some of my favourite photographs from Club 1984 and you’re thinking…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music (especially 80’s music), fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you’re having a great start to your weekend & stay tuned for some more absolutely epic weddings, events and portraits that I’ve been photographing all over Southern California.  From San Diego, to Newport Beach, and Ventura – I am totally honoured to have captured more than a quarter of a million photographs this year and I hope you’re enjoying them as much as I am photographing them.

Ok, that’s it for today and this is David Esquire, a caffeinated Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that needs to get ready to head out & meet my friends in downtown Los Angeles for the Tears For Fears Concert.  Which I’m sure I’ll be sharing with you on Facebook later tonight or if you’re going – text me on my iPhone cuz some of us are getting together afterwards – cheers!

Good morning from Orange County everyone!  This is one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer has been on the edge of my seat for the past couple days as I’ve been putting the final touches on Jennifer & Rick’s Camarillo wedding at the Wedgewood Golf Club Sterling Hills.

If you’re not too familiar with the Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Center at Sterling Hills Golf Club, I have to definitely let you know about one absolutely amazing gem you should have your wedding day at.  Nestled in hills overlooking Camarillo, it is definitely one of the best outdoor wedding venues in Ventura County and it was totally perfect for Jennifer & Rick’s wedding photography.

Jennifer was stunning as she radiated in her gorgeous wedding gown from David’s Bridal and the floral arrangements Michelle created at Passion Flowers added the splash of colour perfectly complimenting the beautiful blue sky for their Camarillo wedding.

From the moment the sun came up over the Topa Tapa Mountains for their panoramic wedding ceremony to the last dance & special toasts, their wedding day was everything a flawless dream wedding should be.  Plus we made sure Jennifer & Rick’s timeline for their wedding day was dialed in, which allowed a generous amount of time for me to capture some of my signature romantic portraits after the ceremony.

Also, I would like to give a special shout out to Mr. Frankie Lopes, the General Manager at the Wedgewood Golf Club Sterling Hills along with the expert staff of professionals made sure that Jennifer & Rick’s Camarillo wedding day was completely perfect.

So!  Before you check out some of my favourite photographs from Jennifer & Rick’s Camarillo wedding at the Wedgewood Golf Club Sterling Hills and you’re thinking…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

Good morning from the new Esquire Photography HQ in a fun little city in Orange County called Newport Beach everyone!  YES!  You read that right!  Esquire Photography is in Newport Beach and this is one Wedding Photographer that has a special West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week that I think may help remind of of a little something we all need in our lives.  But appears to be getting lost in our schedules, our projects, our lives.

Taking a stand against all odds for something you believe in or maybe even something or someone you love.  Regardless of what it is, at some point in our lives – we have to take a stand.

If you’re a child of the 80’s, a movie buff or have been on Planet Earth (I swear, I wasn’t going for a Duran Duran pun!  Or was I???), then the chances are greater than 50% and as high as 100% you have seen this image from one of the most amazing movies in 1989; “Say Anything” with John Cusack by Cameron Crowe with the title song: “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel.

Now what exactly does that have to do with today’s West Coast Wednesday you ask?  Well… for me – pretty much everything.  Last night I was on the phone with my good friend; Grant Oakes in Colorado chatting about his Master Class at WPPI Online in 2012 titled: “So, You Want To Be A Wedding Photographer.”

During our call, he mentioned the “Live Forever” video that Kodak put together & said I should check it out when we got off the phone.  Well, I did and I was so totally moved.  It was about how important photography is to us a people, as friends, spouses, lovers and just about everything else we are to each other in this world.

So many moments in the video affected me as I understand the importance of what photography is in our lives.  How it moves us, changes us, reminds us, breaks us, inspires us and in some cases – changes us.  Then there was a quote about photography, that stuck with me and I really need to share it with you.  Check this out!

“The Pictures, they’re talking.  You have to be very, very quite, you can hear them.

They’re saying:

Keep me
Protect me
Share me
And I will live forever.”

How many millions of words can be spoken just by looking at a wedding album or a shoe box of photos?  I bet if you were to look at a photo of your wedding cake, you can remember how it tastes.  The flowers – how they smelled so totally amazing.  The sun on your face, the wind in your hair and then more importantly – the memories and experiences we can relive through our photography.  Toss in all the stories behind what is going on in the photos and you have a priceless work of art regardless of how simple the photograph.

For me, I take photography very personally.  It’s something that I keep very close to my heart and live, eat & breathe it.  When I deliver my client’s photography to them – I want it to be the absolute best that it can be whether they commissioned me to be their photographer for $5.00, $5,000 or $5,000,000.  Either way – I love photography and I want to make a positive difference in this world one photograph at a time.

There’s also the “Think Different” ad by Apple.  It’s one of the best motivational videos that I’m in love with & believe in 100%.  With this Apple video, the entire script is volumuous to me, but to wrap it up in one quote from the video would be: “The people who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the one that do.”

For my last video I want to share with you, it typically would be “Rio” by Duran Duran.  But something inside me says to share “Ordinary World” by Duran Duran instead.  Which makes sense for today’s special edition West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  And…. if you’re wondering why, it’s because of Anna Marie & Lee’s Pasadena Engagement Shoot.  Where when we were leaving the Huntington Gardens, I nearly dropped my camera on the ground at the same time my jaw hit the ground when we rounded the corner to my favourite spot at the Huntington Garden where they filmed the “Money Shot” of Duran Duran walking past the camera on the ground with black suits and no shoes on in the video; “Ordinary World.”

But before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you “Live Forever” by Kodak, “Think Different” by Apple and “Ordinary World” by Duran Duran.   Feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage (I’m enjoying my vanilla biscotti in my Warrick Castle mug) and enjoy the inspiring messages to kick off your West Coast Wednesday positively in Huntington Beach, another spot in Orange County or another part of this huge planet that we’re all a part of.

Have an awesome West Coast Wednesday and also remember to keep the “Butterfly Effect” happening and make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

“Super Duper PSS,” If you’ve been keeping up with my Facebook and Twitter updates – then you have seen that I’ve brought on two new people to join me in Newport Beach to be a part of the Esquire Photography family.  YAY!

Here is the really cool part.  Both people joining me I’ve known for nearly 10 years. The second addition to the Newport Beach Wedding Photography team is BJ who will be handling all of my books.  I’ve known BJ for about 9 years through Katherine as they’ve both been BFF’s nearly their entire lives.  But when BJ recently told me that she brought another Orange County client up to date from January 1st to July 31st of this year – all in about five hours.  Also pointing out to me that she is to numbers and finances like I am to people and photography.  Pretty much pushed me over the edge for me to bring her on board & we started to exchange information straight away.  I’ve already referred my friend & colleague photographer; Melinda to BJ when she saw my note on Twitter.

Good evening from Orange County everyone!  This is one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that survived the absolutely wild & crazy weather and events over the weekend as I photographed three weddings all over Southern California.

If you had recently seen my Facebook or Twitter updates, then you saw how I was down in San Diego at the Fallbrook Wedgewood for Rebekah & Chris’ Wedding that was hit with the power outage, but worked out to their advantage as they had a totally beautiful as a candle lit event.  Or the next day for Sarah & Alex’s San Diego Wedding with some intense light and a little extra heat.

But, the “frosting on the wedding cake” (no pun intended) was Alana & Jeff’s Wedding.  Marina del Rey, along with just about all of Orange County got clobbered by the storm with sprinkles, rain, torrential rain, massive thunder, lightening, and some fun flash flooding.  But!  I knew it wasn’t going to crash on Alana & Jeff’s wedding because there was a rainbow that landed right over Marina del Rey.  And…. wouldn’t you know it – their wedding was ahhhhmayzeeng!  I think it was probably the leprechauns huddling around the pot of gold they took from me at the end of the rainbow.  HeHe!

Ok, so as I’m sipping on some Vanilla Biscotti coffee from my Keurig coffee maker that seems to work 24/7 like me – I have an absolutely incredible Ventura Wedding of EPIC proportions to share with you.

I recently had the honour of photographing Monique & Collin’s Ventura Wedding at the Wedgewood Buenaventura and it was nothing shy of an incredible time.  In fact, as I have been putting the finishing touches on their wedding over the past week, I’ve been reliving their wedding day.

From the totally gorgeous Floral Designs By Roni in Ventura, to Monique & her ladies looking finer than an “Audrey Hepburn movie” in their WTOO bridal gowns by Watters and Collin & his entourage rockin’ the tuxedos from Friar Tux – their wedding was one that I’ve been eager to share with you once I captured all the memories.

If Monique and Collin look familiar, then you may have seen their Sexy Romantic Portrait Shoot (aka; Engagement Shoot) up at Mandalay Beach and Oxnard Dunes, which is actually not to far from the Wedgewood Buenaventura.

Also, can I just say that once again the “Dynamic Duo” of Sarah & Amy along with their impecable staff of professionals made sure that Monique & Collin’s Ventura wedding day was completely perfect.  From the moment everyone arrived – to when I was getting silly with Monique & Collin along with DJ Robin at the end of the night – everyone had a blast.

So!  Before you check out some of my favourite photographs from Monique & Collin’s wedding at the Wedgewood Buenaventura up in Ventura and you’re thinking…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you had a “Monstrous Monday” today and tomorrow is “TRex Tuesday” – which I’m sure has plenty of fun things in store.  Speaking of, be sure to pop over to my Facebook Fan Page for some of the latest fun photos with Esquire Photography’s mascot; “Duran Rex.”  He’s definitely been getting silly with everyone lately – cheers!
