Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone!  I want to go on record that this is one totally happy & excited portrait and wedding photographer that has had quite the whirlwind of a week that I’ve been sharing with you on the site.

From returning back to Huntington Beach after attending WPPI in Las Vegas with nearly 16,000 other photographers from around the world, to the EMERGENCY West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week with the world premier of Lady Gaga‘s new video; “Born This Way” to Cara & Eric’s New Family/Baby Portraits to the absolutely awesome honour of being included in an Article with the PPA (Professional Photographers Of America) helping other professional and wedding photographers on the importance of getting your studio out there with trade shows and expos.

Well as if that’s not enough going on this week… Here’s the Golden Egg!  Las Friday, no less than 24 hours upon returning from WPPI last week & I received a text message from a colleague down in San Diego asking me if I was interested and available to photograph an Oscars event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles last Saturday – covering the freakin’ awesome artist; Kate Mesta with all the amazing celebrities there.

Let me clear my throat… *Ahem*…. I had the biggest resounding YES with her & all I needed to know was where & when.  Can I get a “Wholly Nachos & Newcastles!”

If you’re not too familiar with Kate Mesta, check this out!

Kate Mesta creates all of her jewelry in Laguna Beach, California.  Every piece of Kate Mesta’s work is a one of a kind piece of art to wear. Her work has been featured in many celebrity events. Can I get an Elvis inspired; “Uh Huh! Uh Huh!”

The event was bursting at the seams with people coming in from all around.  If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you would have seen some of my updates for all the amazing stars that were in attendance.  Here are just a few:  C. Thomas Howell, Cheryl Tiegs, Twilight’s Boo Boo, Omar Miller, Elizabeth Gillies, Temara & Tarik Ellinger & Jane Lavin, Cobi Jones, Master P., NSync’s Joey, Jon Huertas, Genevive Wilson (from the award winning short: Turning Japanese), Bobby Brown, Nadia Bjorlin, Drew Carrey, Todd LyghtNeil Everett, Lou Diamond Phillips, Blake Lewis, Tony Douolani, TITO ORTIZ!, Chris “Kid” Reed, and Verne Troyer!

Good afternoon from Huntington Beach everyone!  One of the best things about being a wedding and portrait photographer in Huntington Beach – or more generally, in Southern California is that I have the opportunity to work with really amazing people and families.

Especially most recently when I had the opportunity to work with Belinda from Studio Z down in San Diego to photograph an Oscars event at Paramount Studios.

I had an absolutely incredible time as working in the entertainment & music industry flows through my veins having worked in that industry for years.  AND!  We had the opportunity of working with the totally awesome artist Kate Mesta.  She was there with her entire modern family & talk about tons of love that they all have for each other and those around them.  I quite literally felt like a friend of the family with a nice camera working with them at the event!

I just received a note from Sondra about their experience working with me at the Oscars event & I’m totally flattered and honoured to have helped provide a terrific experience for them.

Before you check out the note below and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to contact this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County that shoots out of the box Photography all over from OC to Los Angeles and San Diego.  Feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

  • David Esquire - Thanks for the note Michael! It was a total blast & I’m so totally thankful for the opportunity! :-)

Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone!  While this wedding photographer was in Las Vegas last week for WPPI, I received a call from the PPA (Professional Photographers Of America) to see if I would be interested in contributing to an Article they were working on.  Even though I was out of town in Las Vegas and they gave me less than 24 hours to round up my thoughts – I immediately said yes.  What an honour to share my experiences with other wedding photographers around the world!

The basis of their Article was to share with other wedding and professional photographers why it’s important to get your studio out there with trade shows and expos.  Being a lifetime professional member of the PPA and having done both trade shows and expos as a professional wedding photographer with some of the events being successful and some not so successful, I wanted to help others with what to make their events a success and pitfalls to avoid.

What’s also really awesome is that a part of the Article that the PPA included was my first experiences with Anna Marie & Lee after an event with Bridal Showplace on the Queen Mary in Long Beach.  You might remember Anna Marie & Lee from their Los Olivos Wedding at the Firestone Vineyard that I had the honour of being a part of back in October 2009 and was featured in Professional Photographer Magazine from the PPA..  Or!  More recently – their fun Maternity Photo Shoot in Anaheim Hills before they had their baby last week when I was in Las Vegas.

But before you check out the Article from the PPA about why professional photographers should get their photography business out in trade shows and expos, and you’re thinking to yourself… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County, California that shoots weddings all over from OC to LA to Ventura and up at the Firestone Vineyard in Los Olivos.  Feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

PS, If you missed it last week when I was out of town, be sure to check out Heather Birdsell from Paper Monkey on the latest episode of “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” – where she’s sharing some terrific advice on how to save some time, some money & your sanity planning your wedding and event.  AND!  Check out the outtakes too – they’re awesome!

I’m definitely one Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach that is sipping a delicious cup of coffee while I’m finishing up my newest West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Wedding for you today.

Last week when I was returning from WPPI in Las Vegas where nearly 16,000 wedding and portrait photographers from all around the world descended – I was chatting with my good friend and totally amazing photographer; Belinda (who I recently worked with from Studio Z down in San Diego for an Oscars event on Saturday) and the subject came up of music, art & other amazing things that are awesome in this big world of ours.

She brought up The Cure & said that I reminded her of a totally amazing song; “Underneath The Stars.”  The Cure is one of my all time favourite bands that I’ve followed throughout the years & even seen them in concert about 7 years ago.  So when Belinda brought up The Cure, I was like – whew hew!  Someone else that has similar taste in music as my eccentric self. Wholly Nachos & Newcastles!

If you’re not too familiar with The Cure, check out this snippet about them from their Bio on their website (They’re also from England too!  The capital of the world.  Yeah!):

“It all started in 1976 as ‘Easy Cure’, formed by Robert Smith (vocals, guitar) along with schoolmates Michael Dempsey (bass), Lol Tolhurst (drums) and local guitar hero Porl Thompson. They began writing and demoing their own songs almost immediately, playing throughout 1977 in Southern England to an ever growing army of fans. In 1978 the ‘Easy’ was dropped, along with Porl, and an eager trio now known simply as The Cure were quickly signed to Chris Parry’s new Fiction label.

In May 1979 their debut album Three Imaginary Boys was released to great acclaim, and as the band toured extensively around the UK, the singles “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Jumping Someone Else’s Train” were released. Michael left the band at the end of the year, and Simon Gallup (bass) and Matthieu Hartley (keyboards) joined. In early 1980 the 4-piece Cure embarked on an exploration of the darker side of Robert’s song-writing, and emerged with the minimalist classic Seventeen Seconds, along with their first bona-fide ‘hit single’ “A Forest.”

But before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer that loves 80′s music, fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you The Cure with “Underneath The Stars.”  So feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage, enjoy the video with it’s tsunami of sound, hauntingly sexy vocals and beautiful message.

Have an awesome first West Coast Wednesday and also remember to make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!
