David Esquire Photographs Barbara Higgins Exhibit At Wyndham Hotel In Costa Mesa

bhiggins0004Good Evening Everyone!  I just got in from an almost Date Night with Katherine that changed very quickly.  Katherine and I were invited to attend an exclusive gallery opening at the Wyndham Costa Mesa of an award winning colleague; Barbara Higgins – who had an exclusive artist reception with wine, hors d’oeuvres and beautiful silver gelatin images abound.

Katherine & I have become close with several people at the property, so we thought it would be great to stop by to enjoy the event, hopefully catch up with our friends; Tom, Marcy and Denise and then head out for a nice dinner afterwards.  Well… that all quickly changed when we walked in the door earlier.

We were greeted by a lovely lady that seemed to know who I was, which kinda threw me off because as you all know, I have been to my share of social gatherings, but I couldn’t place the face.  Then Barbara introduced herself and whew – I didn’t feel like such a goober.  She noticed that I had my camera with me and asked if I could take a few photos of the event for her.  I of course was jumping out of my skin to say yes, but did the responsible husband thing & checked with Katherine first as it was supposed to be our date night.  Katherine was totally supportive, said yes and as she popped out for a quick bite – my shutter started firing away catching paparazzi inspired shots.

Barbara’s guests were totally cool and I had an absolutely great time covering her event.  Not to mention that I was able to pause here & there when I was shooting to check out her work, which is stunning.

And!  They Wyndham and Barbara Higgins donated 20% of the proceeds from all art sold tonight to help support art education at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa and Festival of Children Foundation.

Here are a few snaps from tonight’s event & I hope you’re having a great weekend – cheers!
