Good morning from EPHQ in overcast & kinda drizzly Huntington Beach everyone! If you saw my Twitter and/or Facebook status update last night, you would have seen that I was having an ahhhhmayyyyzeeeeng GTG over some deeeelicious raspberry lemon drop martinis at one of my favorite spots in Orange County; the Surf & Sand Resort with uber-underwater photographer; Beverly Factor from Laguna Beach.
I first had the pleasure and honour of meeting Beverly recently when I photographed the Oceana SeaChange fund fund raiser in Laguna Beach. I was enjoying a “Marine Fizz” drink at the bar with my good friend and editor of the Laguna Beach Times; Lisa and happened to meet Beverly. I knew instantly that Beverly had a passion for what she does along with her love of her craft & art. So I totally couldn’t wait to get to know her better and see what drives a world-class photographer and artist like herself.
Just when I think I’ve been around the block as a photographer – I meet Beverly with her world traveled experience. Here’s a bit of information about Beverly from her website – check it out:
Underwater photographer Beverly Factor has traveled the globe photographing the mysterious world below the ocean’s surface. She gave up the corporate life and took a chance following her heart to make her dream of traveling the world to photograph exotic undersea life come true.
Her stunning, award winning images of the underworld world, as well as exotic wildlife, landscapes and indigenous people have been published in numerous magazines, books and products. As I sat there last night chatting with Beverly, I kept remembering one of my favourite songs from Oceanlab in the Above and Beyond “family.” The song is “Miracle” by Oceanlab and it’s about how we can make positive changes in our environment to help save our planet & our future. I luuuuuuuuv this!
