Alia & Eduardo, Sept. 27, 2008, N. Hollywood, CA

Good Morning Everyone! I have a fantastic story to share with you, so be prepared for a great (and slightly lengthy) posting.

I’m on the road in the valley right now as I’m typing this for you about Alia & Eduardo’s wedding yesterday. You might remember Alia & Eduardo from their Engagement Shoot that we recently did up at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles & then in at the beach in Seal Beach. Where we were able to capture some absolutely incredible portraits of them just being themselves in front of the camera.

But yesterday was the 12 hour encore to their Engagement Shoot that I was totally blessed to be a part of and capture it in print. From the minute I showed up, it was nothing buy good news, great times, many laughs and some tears of joy that Alia & Eduardo were able to share with their friends & family.

Alia & I also have a VERY unique story which began about a dozen years ago when we both worked on the same extreme inline skating tour for a few years. Over the years, we lost touch with each other & then bumped into each other at Patricia & William’s Wedding in September of last year where she recognized me shooting. When she told me that she would want me to photograph her wedding, I was so honoured to accept and yesterday was the fruits of our labour.

AND! If that wasn’t enough, another friend of mine from the tour; Nadine flew over from the my favourite place; London where we recently were for Erin & Philip’s Engagement Shoot back in the spring. So yesterday was more like a reunion of old friends and also being able to make new ones too.

Ok, so as I go down memory lane, I want to share their wedding day. First, I would like to say when I walked in the room at The Sheraton Universal where Alia was getting ready that she was totally radiant with perfect hair and makeup done by her uncle. Gorgeous! Her ladies in waiting were also stunning as they had their hair & makeup done by Annie Ha from The Pink Brush.

Once the ladies were ready, we headed to St. Charles Borromeo in North Hollywood which is a completely stunning cathedral church that reminded me of the beautiful churches in London. Their ceremony was picture perfect and afterwards we even rounded up the entire congregation of all their friends & family for a HUGE group photo. What was super cool about it was everyone gathered together quickly for the shot!

Alia & Eduardo’s reception was at The Odyssey in Granada Hills where Alexandra Rembac from Sterline Engagements and her staff led an impeccable reception that allowed myself and David from Charles Lauren Films cover the party that DJ Victor Gutierrez from DJ Impact was able to keep everyone going on throughout the entire night. Not to mention the stunning views from the cliff-side ballroom the reception was in!

Towards the end of the night, Alia, Eduardo and I were able to sneak out for a few minutes to have a Night Romantics shoot where we could capture some of our signature Artistic & Romantic portraits.

Here are a few of my favourites from Alia & Eduardo’s wedding day & I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did capturing them. Have a super weekend – cheers!
