IMG_4783Good evening everyone!  I’m coming to you live from Pacific Coast Highway and Warner in Huntington Beach, California at Esquire Photography HQ to share some cool news.  I had the honour of presenting Esquire Photography at the Pictage User Group (PUG) in Long Beach to other photographers.

It was a smaller group tonight, but nonetheless – some fantastic people that I’m proud to say I shoot next to in the biz.  There was Cassandra from Cassandra’s Elegant Photo Art, Heather from HBD Photography and Jeremy from Dodgen Photography.  Along with the PUG host; Christine from CLS Photography who was kind enough to open her home with snacks, treats & decafe coffee.

I was able to share a bit about what I’ve done in my nearly 3 decade path in the photography industry, some ups & downs of what I’ve had and debuted the draft of a new promotional video that you’ll be able to see very soon.

Christine caught a few photos from the group and she even snapped one of me doing my best Blue Steel.  Although I’m currently working on “Sparticus” – which I’ll probably drop on everyone very soon.

I hope you’re having a great West Coast Wednesday & stay tuned for some exciting news that is brewing about the London 2012 Olympics – cheers!

dojopodcast-61x140Good afternoon everyone! I just got back in from the gym and got the word from Kerry that the podcast we recorded this week on iTunes from Huntington Beach and Tustin is live.

Over the past few weeks we both recently upgraded our camera bodies.  Kerry upgraded from a 30D to a 50D and I traded in a couple of my 40Ds to a 5D Mk II. So in this episode we both “geek out” a bit and discuss the new cameras and some of the features that are not only dope to us, but help us produce even better killer photos for our clients.

If you’re interested in subscribing to the podcast, click the iTunes button below.  We also recently celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary with the podcasts & gave away more than $6,000 in free prizes to our listeners.

I hope you’re having a great West Coast Wednesday & stay tuned for more exciting news coming up about the 2012 Olympics that I’m heading back home to London for – cheers!

Good morning from overcast Huntington Beach, Callifornia everyone!  As I’m getting materials ready for the presentation I’m giving today at the Long Beach Pictage User’s Group (PUG), I had a song in my head that I wanted to share with you.

It’s by a group that crash landed on the scene in the early 80’s with a near perfect landing.  In fact this goup was one of the few spearhead superstar teams that fronted the English Invasion in the 80’s.

The duet is Tears For Fears & this week’s song is Shout. I loved the original version and they recently did a tour with an orchestral group backing them up.  So sit back, enjoy your morning beverage & here is Tears For Fears with this week’s West Coast Video Of The Week; Shout – cheers!

Good Afternoon Everyone! I just got back in my office from the gym in Huntington Beach & had a wonderful testimonial on my wall on Facebook from Leah’s grandmother; Lou-Ellen about Leah & Darrell’s Wedding in at the Diamond Bar Cultural Center in Diamond Bar, California.

Words can’t even begin to explain the amazing feeling that I have about what she has to say. So without further ado, I’ll let you check out what she had to say & have a super week – cheers!

“Hi David!

This doesn’t involve Pugs, but it does involve pictures, wedding pictures, namely Leah’s. I saw the finished product of Leah and Darrell’s wedding pictures Sunday and I must say that I have never seen such works of art that they are. Each picture was better then the last one.

Such color,  the clouds didn’t look artificial – they were so beautiful, it looked like pictures taken from a movie, only better. There was such remarkable workmanship in each shot and each pose was carefully thought out. All the tiny parts you wouldn’t ordinarily see, was there for everyone to see. They were all crystal clear and the color’s were perfection. Thank you so much for all your hard work and sending the best of the best.

Blessings,

Lou-Ellen Crow (Leah’s Grandma Honey)”

Good evening from Huntington Beach, California & have I got a fantastic day to share with you!  I just got back from spending my day in Fullerton at the Muckenthaler Mansion & Cultural Center for Erin & Nick’s wedding.

Can I just say that I love going to the Muckenthaler Mansion because not only does Duane & his impeccable staff from Colette’s Catering roll out the red carpet, but Katherine & I had our wedding there too.

Erin & Nick’s day started off with some sketchy weather and it even sprinkled a few times when I was on my way there.  BUT! After playing “Hold Back The Rain” by Duran Duran & sending a request to the Big Guy upstairs – the weather totally kept at bay & with a little overcast.  A gorgeous day for a wedding indeed!

I met up with Erin as she was getting ready and putting the finishing touches on and then we headed out for some amazing portraits on the front lawn and some classic timeless portraits in-between the trees on the side of the property too.

Once we were done, it was time for the ceremony & all I can say is OMG – it was quite lovely with floral arrangements done by LaRaine at This Old Garden Gallery creating a ceremony site fit for royalty.

After the ceremony, we had some great time laughing during the portraits & with Rick from Black Tie Events spinning and The Creepers rocking out – THAT was when the fun really began.  Erin & Nick even had a gelato bar and a candy bar so everyone could satisfy their sweet tooth while celebrating Erin & Nick’s marriage.

I hope you enjoyed the sample of what is to come of their day & have a super weekend – cheers!
