knmblog1000.jpgGood Evening! I just got in from a whirl-wind day in Seal Beach, Corona & Cardiff By The Sea and I thought I would share a little taste of what Kirsten, Marc & I did early this morning in Seal Beach.

We met at the delicious Javatinis on Main Street for a quick latte & then off to one of my favourite local “secret” spots I love to shoot at in Seal Beach.

The weather held off for us & we were graced with blue skies, a quiet surrounding and a great opportunity for all of us to work together. It totally gave them an opportunity to see how much fun and relaxing it is doing a photoshoot. So when the big day comes around, they’re not surprised at all by my “antics” when I shoot. You know the kind, swinging from trees, jumping off of roof-tops getting that “extreme” shot – those kinds of things.

Here are a few of my favourites from the morning & I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them. And, if you’re lucky enough to be at their party, then all you need to know is… Table 14!

Have a blessed week – cheers!

If you don’t already know, we are flying to London, England in March to do an engagement shoot. Yeah!

Well if you’re an international traveler, you know that the restrictions for luggage are just insane. Add to that, being a professional photographer & you have the perfect mix for unhappy travel.

We are AVID users of Think Tank Photo’s equipment at Esquire Photography. In fact – it’s almost a requirement to use their gear with us! Ok, not really, but their equipment is the best that we’ve used in the past 2 1/2 decades and if you’re not using it – you’re sooooo missing out!

Here’s a little bit about Think Tank Photo too:

Think Tank Photo is a professional photography equipment manufacturer, creating innovative camera bags, camera cases, photo backpacks and beltpacks for Professional Photographers that use digital SLR cameras. By designing camera bags for speed and accessibility, we prepare a photographer to Be Ready “Before The Moment.”

All that said leads up to what we wanted to share with you. Think Tank Photo has provided us with their amazing Airport Antidote for the trip to London to field test & review. The Airport Antidote is a legal carry on backpack fits all international carry on requirements, and fits into the overhead of very small planes.

We’re so honoured with their generous offering and at the same time very eager to get over the puddle & test out the Airport Antidote for it’s ability to hold as much gear as that we can squeeze in and get through customs as quickly as possible.

We leave on March 20th for London, so stay tuned for our in-depth review of the Airport Antidote & photos from the trip! You can also register on our site for updates, promotions & other amazing things that are going on in the world of Esquire Photography.

Have a super week & if you’re in So. Cal. – do your best to stay dry – cheers!

jencharlieblog1000.jpgGood Evening! I just got in from a full day with Jennifer & Charlie for their wedding and can I say, what an absolutely incredible way to start off the new year.

Our day started down in Newport Beach on the strand for a wonderful family portrait. We were blessed with a break in the gloomy weather that we were experiencing, which was very different from what Southern California is known for. BUT! We never got that crazy storm that was plastered all over the news.

After we stormed Newport Beach, Jennifer & I headed to the Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton to get ready for the ceremony. Jennifer had the best shoes that we all ooh’d over & she wore her grandmother’s pearls too. The details were beautiful, her hair stunning & her bridesmaids in beautiful blue gowns. It was truly… hmmm… what was the word that described everything today? Oh right. EPIC! One word that rang true for everything today.

As our day was continually blessed with a break in the weather to eventually a magnificent midnight blue sky, we had an original ceremony like you’ve never been to before, followed by some very fun formal & family portraits & then the delicious reception. Their reception was catered by Colette’s Catering and everything was overseen by Duane, who is absolutely one of the best in the industry.

As everyone danced the night away, group portraits were shot from the circular staircase & an encore shoot that we snuck out for – just made for a perfect day. And their perfect day was topped off with a wonderful farewell as they drove off in their convertible surrounded with everyone blowing bubbles down the driveway.

Here are just a few of the near 2,500 photos that I shot today. Thank you for inviting me into your world of fantastic friends & family & I hope you have a blast on your cruise down in Baja – cheers!
