thanksgiving-dog-cat.jpgTo borrow a quote from one of my absolute favourite movies; Sweet November…

“Happy We-Stole-Your-Land-and-Killed-Your-People Day!”

Ok, but really now. We all have many things to be thankful for & today is an excellent day to reflect on them. Health, Love, Family, Friends, Kittens, Puppies, iPhones, Mac Computers and of course the one thing that drives Esquire Photography; Our Wonderful Clients! If it weren’t for the wonderful couples and clients that I am invited to share their lives with, we would not be who we are. And for them, I am very thankful!

And, there is one more thing that I would like to share with you. It just warms the cockles of my heart…

The Thanksgiving Song (Performed By Adam Sandler)

Love to eat turkey
Love to eat tur-r-rkeyyyy
(I LOVE U ADAM)

Love to eat turkey cuz its good
I love to eat turkey like a good boy should

kerriejeff1006.jpgGood Afternoon! I just got in from the gym & had a text message on my iPhone from Kerrie & Jeff about their wedding photography.

“Thank you soooooo much 4 everything. It was perfect. I love every minute. Off 2 Hawaii now! Ker”

What makes this message super awesome, is that they sent it to me as they were about to board the plane to Hawaii!

What a great way to start the Thanksgiving week! I’m so blessed and thankful to have such AMAZING clients & I wouldn’t trade what I do for the world! Cheers!

michellejosheng1006.jpgGood Morning! I’m starting to stir around & get things going after a full weekend of shooting two weddings & had a wonderful note in my email from Michelle & Josh about their Engagement Shoot last Saturday.

“We had such a great time on the shoot with you! The pictures look awesome, we can’t wait to see the rest. Thanks for making the day so easy and fun. Without a doubt we picked the right team of photographers for our wedding! Michelle and Josh”

AWESOME! Notes like this make what we do so worth it! I hope you have a super short week & you’re preparing for a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Cheers!

corinneleejay2000.jpgGood Evening! I just got in from a whirl-wind wedding day with Corinne & Lee Jay up in Hermosa Beach, California. I never knew that 7 hours could fly by so fast – whew!

Their day started off at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for some wild portraits with Lee Jay’s krew. We had the challenge of having a straight face through their portraits and me holding the camera steady because I was laughing so hard with the guys. And then Corinne arrived & she looked absolutely beautiful. Even though the weather was giving us the most overcast skies, Corinne & her attendants looked stunning in the soft light that we had.

After their ceremony and the formal portraits we headed to the Cheescake Factory down the street in Redondo Beach where their reception was being held at for some night romantic portraits in front of the building. They had a taste of what I typically do with the models that I work with – holding some of the wildest poses untill you feel like your limbs are going to fall off. Sorry guys!

Once we were done shooting outside, we headed in so they could enjoy their cocktail hour & from there, the reception kicked off & what a party it was. With pleanty of food, drink & dancing, Corinne & Lee Jay danced the night away with their best friends and family. Simply perfect!

Here are a few of my favourites from the day – cheers!

kerriejeff1005.jpgGood Evening! I just got in from photographing Kerrie & Jeff’s wedding with our Associate Photographer; Kerry over at L7 Studios and what a day! Their day started at St. Paschal Baylon Church in Thousand Oaks, California with pleanty of laughs and jokes as we started off with formal portraits of the bridal party. Although… most of time it didn’t seem to be very “formal” as the guys were out posing each other with their “Blue Steel” poses and the ladies gave me their some of the best sassy eyes I’ve seen in a long time.

They kept their ceremony fairly short and it was beautiful! Kerrie was stunning as she walked down the aisle to meet Jeff as he was waiting for her at the end of the aisle with a huge grin on his face and all of their attendants looked amazing.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach – Hotel & Resort in Oxnard, California for more “formals” and fun on the Presidential Lawn. We all hoped for some of our world famous Southern California sunsets, but instead we were treated with tropical clouds and skies transforming the environment to look more like we were on one of the Hawaiian islands instead of a California beach.

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun we all had getting crazy with the portraits all the while braving the chilly winds and brisk weather we were shooting through.

Afterwards, it was on to the Wedgewood Country Club for how should we say… one ginormous bash that was more like Mardi Gras than a wedding reception. From the grand entrance with some chanting song about USC (I heard they were a really good university or had a good team or something…), to the dancing, to the partying, to the rapping, to more dancing and partying and dancing and partying – everyone had a blast. And I don’t want to leave out the compatibility quiz, where Kerrie & Jeff were put to the test to see how well they really do know each other. LOTS of good laughs there and probably a little too much TMI, but maybe not. Wink-Wink!

Here are a few of my favourites from the day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed photographing them – cheers!
