katherinedavidvow2.jpgWhat trip to Lost Wages wouldn’t be complete without renewing your vows at Cupids Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip?!!

As part of our renegade Thanksgiving vacation in Vegas, we had a coupon for a free wedding vow renewal & took the dive to walk the plank, er I mean aisle once again.

And yeah, you’re probably saying for Katherine it was the plank – I mean, it takes a great deal of patience, courage and test of your will-power to marry an eccentric artist like me.

katherinedavidvow1.jpgWe snapped a couple of pictures of ourselves while we were there & we also had a photographer that has been there since it opened nearly 50 years ago take our photos on something called film.

I’ve heard that people used to use this thing called film to take pictures and it’s supposed to be better than digital (or so they say!).

So to quote one of my favourite bands; Digital Underground, here are some lyrics to go with our event:

[Humpty Hump]
Tie the knot, tie tie the knot
Ahh yeah, tie the knot, tie tie the knot
Tie the knot, tie tie the knot (2X)

*some off key singing of Here Comes the Bride by Digital Underground*

[Humpty talking while they sing]
Uhh, kick it y’all
Ahh yeah

[Shock G]
Heheheheheh
Yo Hump, gonna do a lil somethin like this

Lots of little knots that need to be tied
A pair of knuckleheads walkin side by side
down the altar, you say to yourself, “I will not falter”
But you’re thinkin it — how did I get myself in this predicament?
Saw the def cutie that made your heart sing
You hop to the shop to get a ring (a big diamond)
You hop to the shop to buy a ring (a BIG DIAMOND!)
You hopped to the shop and got a ring…
Felt left out cause all your friends are hooked
But now you’re at the altar, your goose is cooked
You say a prayer, “Lord please give me strength to make it through”
Opened up your nervous mouth, slipped and said, “I do”
I don’t, IdoIdoIdo, I don’t I don’t, IdoIdo, I don’t, I don’t
Look you do son, now hurry up and kiss the brizide
Peace said the father, cause now the knot is tied

[DU] Tie the knot, tie tie the knot
[HH] Yeah it’s time to make the move
[DU] Tiffi tiffi tie the knot
[SG] Uhh
[DU] Tie the knot, tie tie the knot
[HH] Yo it’s time to make the move
[DU] Tiffi tiffi tie the knot
[HH] Tie the knot y’all
[DU] Tie the knot, tie tie the knot
[HH] It’s time to make the move
[DU] Aibbi ibbi abba abba tie the knot
[SG] Uhh, kick it
[DU] Tie the knot, TIE TIE THE KNOT!
[HH] It’s time to make the move
[DU] IFFY IBBI ABBA DABBA TIE THE KNOT
[HH] Kick the vocals!

*Digital Underground starts singing Here Comes the Bride off key again*
[Humpty Hump talking while they sing]
Uhh, yeah
Keep it comin y’all
Uhh, wait wait hold it tight, hold it tight
C’mon man this is serious, this for the movie
Aww man, y’all some lousy singers
Alright fellas, knock it off, knock it off, break it down

*after a pause, D.U. starts singing again*
Here comes the bride…
Here comes the bride (here comes the bride)
Here, comes the bride! (here comes the bride)
Here comes the bride (HERE comes THE bride!)
Here comes da bride!! (woooeeeeee!)
Lo do da lo (*they break down in laughter*)
La da daah..

Have a great week – cheers!

therock1005.jpgIf you already don’t know, but nearly everyone knows that I am such a HUGE Hell’s Kitchen & Kitchen Nightmares fan. Which makes this entry even more special to me.

Katherine & I had dinner with The Rock! That’s right – the Hell’s Kitchen winner from this season at his restaurant; Terra Verde in Las Vegas.

What an honour & a veritible cornucopia of flavours for a dinner. In fact, I referred to it as an experience & not just a meal. If you have eaten at Ruth’s Chris, Famous Daves in Chicago or Delius in Long Beach – then you know what a meal experience is & that is exactly what we had.

If you have the opportunity to take some time out for a fantastic dinner with someone special in your life, then you need to go there, even if you’re not a fan of Hell’s Kitchen – it’s a slice of Heaven.

Cheers!

Ok-ok, if you know Katherine & I, then you know that she was blessed with the “jock” gene for our relationship. So being the whacky couple that we are, we took our coupon for some “free” games & put that gene to the test.

And once again, Katherine showed me up in a “traditional” sport with her hat trick of strikes & sweeping the entire game with her score!

Just gimme the chance to get her on a snowboard, or some inline skates or pretty much anything that falls in-line with the X Games & then let’s have a challenge. Hee hee hee!

Oh, but hey – I make bowling look good in my English Laundry shirt though! ;-) wink wink!
