Good afternoon from Newport Beach everyone!  One of the coolest things about being a Wedding Photographer in Orange County is I get to meet a lot of really amazing people all over Southern California.  But!  What’s even better is that I don’t restrict myself to just here in Newport Beach or back at the old EPHQ in Huntington Beach.  I really like to keep myself open to meeting new people around the world and with the today’s technology shrinking our planet even more today than before with online social communities like Twitter, Facebook and now the new Google+ – I’m able to meet people everywhere.

One of the coolest people I’ve had the honour of meeting through another friend of mine and monstrous 80’s fan; Carri (who was recently in town & I was able to meet up with at 1984 a few weeks ago) is Candy down in the Philippines.  The other night Candy & I were instant messaging and when I was sharing with her that I received a crate of Korean music from my good friend & client Terri – she asked me if I had heard heard of this one hard band from Japan.  I wasn’t sure who she was referring to & she sent me a link to them on You Tube.  When I kicked off the video, I nearly jumped out of my chair & wanted to start rockin’ out.  But it was nearly midnight & I didn’t think my neighbors would really appreciate that from me.  LOL!

So with that said… This week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week heads across the Pacific Ocean to Japan.  The group is Buzzlip and if you’re like me – I wasn’t too familiar with those wild rockin’ guys, nor was I able to locate too much about them online, but I did manage to find some bits about them on Wikipedia and had it translated for you.  There isn’t much to share with you, but their music TOTALLY doesn’t need words whatsoever.

Buzzlup “(Bazurippu) is a Japanese band, Buzzlip by the mini album.

That’s about all that I could dig up to share with you.  Not much, but as I was mentioning, I think you’ll see that their music does all the talking.

So!  Before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music from around the world, fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

So without further ado, I give you Buzzlip with “Wild Rock” from Newport Beach for today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  BUT WAIT!  Before you fire off the video, make sure you have your sound fired up.  If you’re concerned about your neighbors or disturbing others, you may want to turn it down.  If you don’t have any restrictions – CRANK IT UP!

So get up out of your chair, take a sip out of your favourite mid-afternoon energy drink (mine currently is the Monster Zero.  RWARRRR!!!) and keep your West Coast Wednesday positive and “Carmageddon Free” in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles or another part of this crazy world we’re all a part of.

  • japan wedding | WEDDING PORTAL - […] Newport Beach Wedding Photographer / Buzzlip / Wild Rock / Japan …Description : Good afternoon from Newport Beach everyone! One of the coolest things about being a Wedding Photographer in Orange County is I get to meet a lot of really.http://esquirephotography.com/ .. […]

Good evening from EPHQ everyone!  I am one totally excited Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that is rockin’ the midnight hour with a totally wild Double Birthday Bash at the Westridge Golf Club for long time friends and clients; Monique & Cesar.

You may remember Monique & Cesar from a few years ago when I photographed their romantic and sexy urban Engagement Shoot in downtown Los Angeles or their La Habra Wedding they had for more than 425 people at the Westridge Golf Club.  Over the years, we have all kept in touch sharing emails & chatting on Facebook, so when I received a note from Monique and Cesar asking if I was available for their Double Birthday Party for them – I rushed to check my calendar & then let them know… HECK YEAH!!!

To ensure the two of them having a photograph taken with nearly all of the 200 guests that were invited – they had a Red Carpet entrance.  Which I want to say was a perfect time for all of us to kick off the night properly having fun on the red carpet and being silly in front of the camera for photos and video.

Their party was totally done up properly too!  And, I think that was largely in part to Monique’s awesomeness as a professional wedding and event planner with her awesome business; A Blissful Affair.  If you’re planning an event or wedding, definitely ring Monique up.  She’s very attentive to details and pours her heart into every event she works on too.

From the minute the night began to the end when we were all leaving – Monique & Cesar’s party was a total blast!  From the cupcakes & churros, the toasts that were shared at the bar and the team from Smooth Music Entertainment – who literally had the crowd on the dance floor nearly every minute of the night.  Also!  I want to give a huge shout out to the pro trio of Paul, Ceff & Clyde from INSiTE Cinema – who hands down have got to be one of the best teams of videographers out there that I’ve had the honour of working with.

So if you’re planning a special event like Monique & Cesar’s and want to have a blast like we did for their Double Birthday Bash at the Westridge Golf Club in La Habra – but also be able to share with your family and friends some timeless memories and Playful & Dreamy night time portraits in the middle of all the fun – feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

Without further ado, enjoy the fun with a few of my favourite photographs from Monique & Cesar’s La Habra Double Birthday Bash & have a safe “Carmageddon” free week – cheers!

PS, Speaking of the upcoming “Car-Mageddon” that is looming upon us here in Southern California in a couple of days from this Friday, July 15th through Monday, July 18th.  There are two websites have some great tips on how to deal with driving in and around Los Angeles along with a ton of vendors helping the public get through the experience with discounts, events and great ideas on how to come together socially.

PSS, And…. speaking of vendors!  I am excited to say that I partnered with Car-Mageddon and am currently taking $405 off (Get it?!? “405” dollars off!) of any wedding package that is booked with me now through the end of the month on July 31st.  So if you or someone you know is wanting to hire me for their wedding – now is a great time to save some extra $$.  Yeah!

PPSS, The two websites I was mentioning in the original PS are:   The Carmageddon Resistance (http://beatcarmageddon.com/) and Car-Mageddon (http://car-mageddon.com/cmg/Home.html).  They’re both on Facebook & Twitter as well – sharing all the awesomeness that the people and businesses in Southern California (Like me!) who are doing their best to help each other prepare and get through this upcoming weekend.  If you have any ideas, totally be sure to share them here on the website or on my Facebook Fan Page or Twitter as well.

Good afternoon from Newport Beach everyone!  I am one super excited Wedding and Portrait Photographer right now.  As I’m sure you’ve seen, I’ve been just about all over Southern California photographing weddings, portraits, women’s softball teams playing for the USA in the Canada Cup (last night’s last minute request), graduations, engagement shoots & so much more.  Lately I’ve had a pinch of a break in my calendar & I’ve been taking full advantage of it to work on all these amazing photographs I’ve been shooting and now I’m starting to be able to share them with you.  Yeah!

Today I have got a really bright, colourful and fun Engagement Shoot that I recently photographed of Nikki & Mike down on Balboa Island in Newport Beach to share with you today.

Nikki & Mike are going to be getting married this summer at the Fallbrook Wedgewood down by San Diego and one of the things that I’m doing with them was their Engagement Shoot.  We had all chatted about what they would like, the fun they share together and enjoy being outdoors too.  And, since I base a lot of my creativity on raw instinct and first impressions – one of the locations that kept coming to mind for them was Balboa Island in Newport Beach.  I have so many awesome favourite spots that I enjoy photographing at and one of them is the ferris wheel, which you may have seen before for when one of the photos Kristen & Michael’s Engagement Shoot took First Place in David Beckstead’s “Admired” Contest with Pictage.

We had a total blast during their shoot!  From the intimate and romantic portraits of them together, to the playful shots in front of the ferris wheel and then “borrowing this absolutely awesome garage door – it was a perfect afternoon with them!  What’s great too – is that I got a taste of how much fun they are and I’m soooooo totally looking forward to more of it at their wedding.

So I’ll pretty much wrap it up & say that if you’re an Bride or Groom that wants to not only have a blast like we did for their Newport Beach Engagement Shoot on Balboa Island – but also be able to share with your family and friends some of my Signature Romantic, Playful and Dreamy portraits – feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

Without further ado, enjoy the delicious treat of a few of my favourite portraits from their Newport Beach Engagement Shoot & have a fantastic Baby Friday – cheers!

PS, I shared a really inspiring message on Twitter earlier & in case you missed it or don’t follow me on Twitter, here’s a little something that Oprah’s World said earlier today:  “Feel the power that comes from “focusing” on what excites you.”  I like that & can totally relate.  I feel like I can take on the world when I’m shooting.  What about you?  Do you feel like that too when you’re focused in on doing things that you’re really in to?

PSS, I also wanted to share a couple of websites with you that will help in dealing with the upcoming “Car-Mageddon” that is looming upon us here in Southern California next week from Friday, July 15th through Monday, July 18th.  These two websites have some great tips on how to deal with driving in and around Los Angeles along with a ton of vendors helping the public get through the experience with discounts, events and great ideas on how to come together socially.

Good evening & Happy Independence Day from Newport Beach everyone!  Even though I absolutely love Love LOVE photographing Weddings, Portraits and Engagement Shoots as much as possible, today was a real treat after a full three months of shooting three to seven days a week to spend some time behind the monitor on my Mac Pro – putting the final touches on Juana & Rodrigo’s Ventura Wedding at the Wedgewood Buenaventura.

You might remember Juana & Rodrigo from their romantic Engagement Shoot and Family Portraits I photographed of them at the Fullerton Arboretum.  Their Engagement Shoot was only the beginning of all the fun that I knew we were going to have at their wedding and wouldn’t you know it – their wedding day was a total blast as well.

Juana & Rodrigo’s wedding ceremony was held at The Parish of St. Matthew in Pacific Palisades.  It was a beautiful ceremony filled with tears of joy, some witty humour by their officiant and on top of that – Juana looked totally stunning in her Kirstie Kelly Couture Disney Collection Wedding Dress and Rodrigo looked sharp as a tack in his black tuxedo.

After their ceremony we popped out to capture some classic portraits with their family along with some timeless & fun portraits with their bridal party.  What was great about Juana & Rodrigo wedding day was they made sure their timeline was put together really well – which lent pleanty of time for us to head out so I could capture my signature romantic portraits.

From the party favours, the mariaci band and dancing – Juana & Rodrigo’s wedding reception in Ventura at the Wedgewood Buenaventura was bursting at the seams with love, laughter and a little something that was a bit unexpected – an impromptu cake smashing that Juana instigated.  So totally cool on her part!

Before you check out Juana & Rodrigo’s Pacific Palisades Wedding – and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) in Orange County loves to capture romantic portraits, timeless moments and wedding details, then feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, below is Juana & Rodrigo’s Ventura Wedding at the Wedgewood Buenaventura in a beautiful slide show that I put together.  If you’re interested in delicious professional prints, I’ll have their wedding photography available on Pictage too.  I hope you’re having a great 4th of July and stay tuned for some more amazing events that I’ve photographed from San Diego to Orange County and Ventura – cheers!

PS, I thought I would share a recent positive quote that I Re-Tweeted and put on my personal Facebook page as well.  Check this out!  “There’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple w/ no logical end -Adams.” Inspiring!

PSS, As I’m sure you’ve seen with some of my TwitterFacebook updates, I was spread pretty thin a couple months ago moving EPHQ from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach and what was really awesome is that I was totally blessed with a lot more amazing clients I’ve been able to photograph for their weddings & portraits from Ventura, Orange County and San Diego.  Last week I even had a couple Grad Nights that gave me an opportunity to exercise my insomnia as I didn’t go to bed for three nights as I was shooting and having meetings 24/7 for four days.  Such an awesome experience!  But I’m super excited to let you know to be ready for a tsunami of Weddings, Engagement Shoots, Portraits and more coming your way.

Good morning everyone!  I am one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that’s still recovering from a super awesome weekend shooting Martita & Miguel’s Placentia Wedding, Adrienne & Matt’s Engagement Shoot at the Fullerton Arboretum, Nicole & Mark’s Engagement Shoot at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and the Archibald Family Portraits on the beach at the Montage in Laguna Beach (WHEW!).

Continuing on with the all time best music videos from the inception of MTV back in 1981 to current.  We’re up a year in the way back machine to 1982 for this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.

A lot happened in 1982 too.  New technology continues to change our buying habits with smaller and cheaper electronic gadgets appearing including the first CD player and a new industry is just beginning with the use of Genetic Engineering human insulin produced by bacteria is sold for the first time. 1982 was the year a computer scientist ( Scott Fahlman ) from Carnegie Mellon University first suggested the use of Smiley or emoticon as a way of expressing emotion in an email :-)

Michael Jackson released his second adult solo album; Thriller, Graceland; the hope of Elvis Presley opened to the public (which is a must see at least once in your life!) and some of the popular films were E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, An Officer and a Gentleman, Poltergeist, Chariots of Fire and Gandhi.

This week’s band takes us wayyyyyyyy back to 1982 and note only are they now celebrating their third decade performing, but they’re one of my favourite bands of the 80′s too.  The group is the Go-Go’s and if you’re not too familiar with those awesome ladies, check out some of their Bio from their website, it’s awesome!

“From their halcyon days as America’s sweethearts to their current status as superstars who pioneered a genre, The Go-Go’s preside over an amazing three-decade reign as high pop priestesses. The internationally-loved pop hitmakers helped cement the foundation of the early 80′s pop-rock sound without the aid of outside composers, session players or, most importantly, creative compromise. From their very first show, The Go-Go’s sang and played their own songs, offering five feisty role models for a generation of ready-to-rock girls and good, hooky fun for pop-loving guys.

Their story truly is a punk version of the American Dream. They came, they saw and they conquered the charts, the airwaves and, with their kicky kitsch appeal, pop culture in general. For a while, the band was virtually inescapable: TV guest shots, magazine covers, high-profile concert tours and movie offers turned Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock and Kathy Valentine into certified rock stars. Their sparking California pop appealed to an astonishingly wide cross-section of music fans.”

So!  Before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves 80′s music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you the Go-Go’s with one of my favourite songs and their 1982 hit; “Our Lips Are Sealed” from Newport Beach for today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  Plus!  If you’re from the Orange County or Los Angeles area, you’ll recognize quite a few locations and what’s really interesting is some of the shops and places that are in the video are still around today.  That is so totally rare and cool!

So feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage (I’ve got my coffee Powerade Zero & Monster Zero!), enjoy Belinda Carlisle’s infectious vocals and Jane Wiedlin’s cuteness of the 80′s and kick off your West Coast Wednesday positively in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach or another part of this crazy world we’re all a part of.

Have an awesome West Coast Wednesday and also remember to keep the “Butterfly Effect” happening and make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

PS, Photo compliments of the Go-Go’s website. Love classic rock band black & whites!
