Good evening from my little slice of Orange County in Huntington Beach, California!
As I’m tackling the uber-mountain of correspondence that went nuclear over the weekend while I was out of town location scouting in Solvang & Los Olivos with my new clients; Anna & Lee along with some well-earned time with Katherine for our 4 year anniversary – I received a tweet from my friend & fellow photographer; Carl Johnson in Colorado saying “CONGRATULATIONS!”
I had no idea what he was talking about & he sent me a link to the results of the 8th round of “Admired by Beckstead” – Pictage’s twice-monthly David Beckstead image contest.
The photo that David Beckstead chose for First Place was one of my favourites that I did with Kristin & Michael down in Newport Beach, California in front of the ferris wheel for their Engagement Shoot.
And, I have to say that the portrait was only possible because Kristin & Michael were willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot and totally patient as well while tons of people strolled the boardwalk on that busy late afternoon.
