David & Katherine Celebrate 4 Year Anniversary & Location Scouting With New Clients In Solvang

0019Good evening from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  I’m getting caught up on everything & wanted to take a brief moment to share some snaps from our weekend in wine country.

Katherine & I celebrated our 4 year anniversary last week & decided to sneak off to wine country for some tastings and some R&R.  But what was really awesome was when we were hired by our new clients; Anna & Lee – who were heading up there as well the same weekend to do some location scouting for their wedding.

0021This past weekend was filled with many great events and one icky/not-so-great event on our way up that we had seen.  Someone had an unfortunate accident with their Mercedes Benz SUV, but there were pleanty of rescue personnel on site, so I’m sure that the folks that were in the car were well taken care of.

As we were heading into Solvang, we received a call from Anna & Lee letting us know they were at the Firestone Vineyard for all of us to hook up.  Well… one thing led to another with wine tastings/location scouting at Firestone & other vineyards, a stop at the Clairmont Lavender Farm, an apple farm, an over-the-top Greek dinner tasting at Petros and then a decadent dinner at the Firestone Walker Brewing Company for a delicious meal, beers and a special birthday cake for Lee.  Needless to say, yeah – we have a couple of incredible friends that we have gotten to know and totally look forward to working with for their wedding coming up in October this fall (they even practiced their “Brown Chicken Brown Cow” kiss under the tree).

0002That was an awesome first day for Katherine & I.  Then we had our 2nd day to kick around Solvang & Los Olivos for more tastings, some window shopping and of course – no trip is complete unless you have some ableskivers.  Which is a tradition for Katherine & I when we go to Solvang.  YUMMY!

We even headed out for an encore visit to the lavender farm, stopped off on the side of a road and almost had some new California Cheese Cows pay me a visit while I was capturing some beautiful landscapes (they probably thought I was a terrorist because of the big white Canon lens- LOL!) and even picked up a few bottles of wine to bring home & enjoy.

Here are a few of my favourite photos that I snapped on our trip & I hope you’re having a great start to your week – cheers!
