Check Me Out!
On Twitter, my short and silly bio says: I'm a "Caffeinated Photographer, Insatiable Wanderluster, Google Glass Explorer, Passionate Coffee Ninja, Stolichnaya Scholar, Educator and Incurable Music Junkie."
While that's all fun & true, I also love being a: philanthropist, iPhoneographer, filmmaker and Director Of Photography who totally loves working with vibrant, passionate & exciting people around the world.
My career has been an exciting roller coaster too! It spans from the USA to England, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, India, Japan, Singapore, Costa Rica and Germany - photographing Grammy Award-winning bands like Duran Duran, X Games, commercial & fashion, contribute to a best-selling photography book, model for Ralph Lauren, teach & give motivational presentations in Elementary, High School & Colleges and had my photography & written work published in 4 languages across the planet.
Whew! So come on inside and take a look at my "Riot Of Colour In A Grey World!"
Happy Christmas from Huntington Beach Everyone! My apologies as I’ve been buried in post production, so I’m running a little late today in Orange County getting you this week’s Christmas West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.
I originally was going to share with you my all-time favourite classic with David Bowie & Bing Crosby, but remembered another song that I like from Enya. So… I just couldn’t choose & decided to share both of them with you.
So this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week is David Bowie & Bing Crosby in “Little Drummer Boy” and Enya with “Silent Night.”
But before I present you with this week’s Christmas cheer for the West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this eclectic Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer that shoots all over from Orange County to Los Angeles to Ventura and San Diego and wants to inspire people. Feel free to get in touch with me anytime.
I’m available just about 24/7 via Twitter, Facebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.
I hope you’re having a terrific Holiday season and help make it a great one for someone else too – cheers!
PS, stay tuned for the next episode of “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day”! I’ve got some fantastic information that I know you’re going to love which will help you plan for your big day.
Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone! Last week I was really inspired to encourage everyone to help in the uber-positive West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week. I was starting off about music for Christmas & it took a different turn. It became more about making a positive difference in this world by helping others and being a part of the Butterfly Effect. I really feel like this world needs more butterflies! :-)
Now you’re probably wondering what that has to do with the “Riding Bikes With The Dutch” movie premier at the Art Theatre in Long Beach. Well… it’s because my good friend & uber-videographer/filmmaker; Michael Bauch from Wedding Video Pro – A Pro Vision Company made the movie. Yeah!
When I was up in Monterey for Ashley & David’s wedding and as we were catching up, he told me about his film; Riding Bikes With The Dutch that he had been working on and has been showing all over the country. I was so excited about how he’s making a positive difference (Butterflies!) that I just had to attend the premier in Long Beach at the Art Theatre.
If you’re not familiar with the movie; Riding Bikes With The Dutch and it’s message – here’s some information from his website: EveryDayBike.com:
“Why?”
“do I see neighbors on my street getting in their cars just to drive around the block only to by a loaf of bread?
are almost 2/3 of our society in the US overweight?
do people regularly have to commute in traffic for over and hour each way everyday?
do we continue our addiction to foreign oil?
do we ignore the signs of climate change?”
“Because…”
“Old habits are hard to break. We have become a society that values bigger, faster, and more and we’ve lost sight of the larger picture. What we are doing is simply not sustainable in the long term. Riding bikes certainly won’t fix all of these problems by itself, but it can be an integral part to a better life for everyone.”
So are you thinking the same thing that I’m thinking?!?! BUTTERFLIES!!!
It was nearly a packed house and nearly everyone that attended the premier, rode their bikes – including the owner of the Art Theatre in Long Beach; Mr. Mark Vidor who recently invested a pretty penny having the theatre restored. Michael and his son rode an Everyday Bike to the premier and his amazing wife; Rachel (who’s pregnant with their next child) came to help assist in the premier too. And! Ms. Nancy Pearlman from Educational Communications, Inc. recorded an interview of Michael and his movement to make this world a better place after the premier and after Michael completed the Q&A with the guests.
If you’re wanting to be a part of the “More Butterflies Movement” that I’m working on and promoting or a bride getting married thinking to yourself… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County, California that wants to help make the world a better place and capture all the infinite memories that happens in life, then feel free to get in touch with me anytime.
I’m available just about 24/7 via Twitter, Facebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.
Also, if you weren’t able to make it to the Art Theatre in Long Beach for the premier of Michael’s film; “Riding Bikes With The Dutch” – I just happened to have my camera with me and was able to document the event to share with you in the fun slide show below.
I love the blog post and slideshow for Riding Bikes with the Dutch!
Thanks so much! I can’t wait to share this slideshow.
David Esquire-I’m totally stoked that you like what I put together! What you’re doing is amazing & I’m glad that I was able to be there and capture the event for you. :-)
Good afternoon from Huntington Beach everyone! I’m back at Esquire Photography HQ after a busy day of being a camera operator in the new auditorium at my church (Sea Coast Grace in Cypress) and then an shooting an interview with my friend & writer; Kim from the LA Times of Risa & James for their Laguna Niguel Wedding next weekend at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel.
I was working on Monique & Jonathon’s Fullerton Wedding yesterday & couldn’t wait to hold off on sharing it with you. I recently had the honour of filling in as a lead photographer for my colleague & friend; Johanna as she was double booked shooting another wedding that day.
Their ceremony held at Hillcrest Terrace at Hillcrest Park was under a crystal clear blue sky that made a terrific canopy for all the splashes of colour that they had for their wedding. For starters, instead of traditional seating, they opted for a spiral pattern of chairs for their guests with their ceremony in the middle. Irene & her associate from OC Strings performed for the wedding processional & recessional, while the guests were able to enjoy the wedding from their spiraled seats.
After the ceremony, we were able to have some classic portraits with the family and then some really fun portraits with the wedding party. Once the classic portraits were done, Monique & Jonathon and I headed across the park where I was able to capture some quiet moments between them with the most amazing sunset.
Monique & Jonathon’s family & friends really took me in like I was an old friend. In fact, two of Monique’s good friends; Noelle (who reminded me of Demi Moore) & Jenn (who reminded me of Taylor Swift) and I totally hit it off being silly throughout the entire wedding day.
The wedding day was capped off with a couple of traditional Hawaiian dances and DJ Danny from Tana Promotions kept the wedding reception swinging throughout the starry night.
So before you check out Monique & Jonathon’s Fullerton Wedding at Hillcrest Terrace and you’re thinking to yourself… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County, California that wants to enjoy life to the fullest and capture all the infinite memories that happen throughout the day, then feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

So without further ado, here is Monique & Jonathon’s Fullerton Wedding in a beautiful slide show that I put together. I hope you’re having a great weekend & stay tuned for so much more that I have to share with you from a fantastic wedding season – cheers!
Jonathon Jensen -David, thanks so much for doing monique’s and my wedding. We had a blast that day shooting with you and the photos turned out so beautifully. We also feel honored that you put a slideshow up of our wedding on your website. You are so talented that I’m sure you take so many great photos, by that you chose to put our photos up is an honor. I hope everything is going well with you and your wife, maybe I’ll see you around some time. I see that we go to the same church. Kinda cool. I go to the 10:30 service on Sundays of you’re there I’ll try to look out for you and say hi.
Thanks so much for the note & it was an honour to be a part of yours and Monique’s wedding day. I had such a great time & I loved how you both were open to some fun and romantic portraits after the wedding.
That’s great to hear you’re attending the same church that I go to! What are the odds! Did you go to service this past Sunday? The new auditorium is ahhhmayzeeng! :-)
Hopefully we’ll see each other at church if I’m able to go to the later service or you’re able to go to the earlier service. :-)
Good evening from Huntington Beach everyone! Being a Wedding Photographer has it’s perks. I give in to a couple slices of wedding cake each year, get to work with some of the most amazing Wedding Vendors in the industry (some of which you’ll be enjoying on my online “TV” program: “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day”) and more importantly, I get to make new and amazing friends each year. Some of them, become like family to me like Ashley & David, who I recently had the honour of photographing in Monterrey (Ashley has also been a Guest Writer on my blog giving brides and grooms first hand insight on planning a perfect wedding), Carina & David and many more.
Speaking of wedding vendors, I was in down in Lake Forest (not in Illinois, but in Orange County) on Sunday before I went to Magic Mountain with one of my friends (and one of my amazing Grooms; Lee – who I photographed his & Anna Marie’s Los Olivos Wedding at the Firestone Vineyard and was also featured in the Professional Photographers of America) and had the great opportunity to photograph Gina Ludwig and her amazing entourage at Hair Comes The Bride for their holiday group portrait and individual portraits as well.
I’ve been referring Gina and her Hair Comes The Brides ladies out to every one of my couples over the years. In fact, recently they worked with me on Shelby & Matt’s Wedding which was filmed on WeTV for David Tutera’s; “My Fair Wedding“ and Jenni & Nick’s wedding as well.
If you’re not too familiar with Hair Comes The Bride, here’s a bit of their awesome story from their website:
“For over fourteen years, Hair Comes the Bride has been a leader in the bridal beauty industry! They are currently ranked #1 in the nation for bridal hair and makeup and continue to grow! We are not just another “hair and makeup” company! We cater to the bride who wants someone who is committed to being of service! A company who knows that it’s All About the Bride! We offer an “On Time and Happy” or your money back guarantee!”
I’m not sure about you, but if you ask me and if I was needing a professional hair & makeup team for me – I would be calling Gina from Hair Comes The Bride in an instant.
If you’re a hair & makeup artist needing professional portraits or a bride thinking to yourself… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County, California that wants to enjoy life to the fullest and capture all the infinite memories that happen throughout the day, then feel free to get in touch with me anytime.
