Good Evening from my little upstairs office in Huntington Beach, California. I have been dying to let you know that I had the honour of doing a portrait shoot for a long time client of mine; Julie and Sean.
I was blessed with being their photographer for their Engagement Shoot and Wedding at Tortilla Flats in Lake Mission Viejo, California back on July 1st, 2007. So doing their summer portraits just over 2 years later is so totally awesome.
We originally chatted about doing their portraits at the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena where the Duran Duran video; Ordinary World was shot, but that location presents some massive challenges for photographers (e.g.: permits, fees, massive lead times, and more fees).
Then we thought of the Fullerton Arbouretum, or my secret spot, but we’ve already done those two locations together. Katherine suggested The Getty Museum and viola. Perfecto!
We met up at The Getty Museum at 10:00 a.m. to catch up for a bit while some of the marine layer burned off and then we headed out in a “stealthy” manner on the grounds capturing some beautiful and colourful portraits (along with a couple of portraits with the amazing architecture of The Getty).
It’s amazing how many photographs you can take when you’re being cool around a property & respecting the artwork and landscape.
Also, can I just say that it’s so awesome to see the two of them with love just pouring out of their eyes for each other. It’s absolutely beautiful!
I hope you enjoyed a few of my favourites from their shoot on Saturday & you’re having a great start to your week – cheers!
