Lauren & Mitch’s Wedding, Bel Air Bay Club, Pacific Palisades, California, Aug. 15, 2009

Good evening from behind Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California everyone!  It’s been an awesome and fast weekend and now I finally have a free moment to sit down & share Lauren & Mitch’s wedding that I photographed with my really good friend; Sara France.  Who you probably already know interviewed me for Pictage, one of the co-creators of my favourite gear bag; Go|Bee Bags, an Aperture Guru, and one absolutely amazing photographer.

So when Sara Tweeted me last Thursday to see if I was available on Saturday to be a 2nd photographer for her during my lunchtime cardio hour, I about fell off the machine.  My first question was; “what time” because, I was already scheduled that morning for Julie & Sean’s Summer Portrait Photo Shoot at The Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California.  Sara said 2:00 – 10:00 & I said no problemo.

Fast forward to Saturday and I first met up with Sara for a quick bite to eat at The Counter – which has some absolutely yummy build your own burgers & then I headed off to Mitch and his men at the Le Merigot Beach Hotel & Spa in Santa Monica.  The guys were so chill and relaxed – it made for a great opportunity to catch some terrific candids when they were getting ready & then one of my signature “Rolling Stone” band-styled portraits in the foyer.

After a toast at the bar, we all loaded up & headed to the Bel Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades, California – just off of Pacific Coast Highway.  The property is gorgeous, overlooks the Pacific Ocean and has one the most massive grand ballrooms ever – which I just couldn’t let go to waste, so I rounded up the guys and did a killer Italian-inspired “family” portrait of Mitch and his entourage in front of the ginormous fireplace.

Their ceremony was incredible, Lauren looked absolutely amazing and there wasn’t an ingredient missing for Sara and I to capture beautiful photographs.  Once the ceremony was a wrap, Sara directed the family portraits, while I snuck in a stalkerazzi shot from the upstairs window and then snapped away at all the amazing details of the ballroom that was prepared for their reception.

Susan de Boismilon and her mates from De Bois Entertainment rocked the entire night away while Ryan, Lisa & Catherine from Savoir Flair Weddings made sure that everyone’s needs were met for the reception.  There was so much to photograph throughout the night and not only that – Lauren & Mitch had a pinch over 300 of their closest friends and family there to celebrate in their day.

I hope you enjoyed some of my favourites from their wedding day & have a super week – cheers!
