Good Evening Everyone! I just got back into my office in Huntington Beach from spending the day with Sara, Mike, their family & closest friends photographing their wedding at the Wedgewood in Ventura, CA. What a joy to photograph the wedding of another beautiful, fun couple. I headed up to meet Sara & Mike for their day with a fellow Fast Track Photographer; John Loyola. John and I were able to talk shop on the way up and get a feel for working together – which was very cool.
When we arrived at the Wedgewood, I met up with Sara and her ladies in the bridal preparation suite to capture soft details and natural candids while everyone was getting ready for the big day. When the rain broke for a little bit, I headed up to take Mike & his men in black to go out on the green for some sharp and cool portraits. Sara looked absolutely stunning in her gown when her mother finished lacing up the corset back of her dress and since the weather still had a break – all of us ran out to capture some beautiful wedding portraits near the green. Their ceremony was held indoors because of the random storming that was happening in Ventura – but nonetheless, was perfect indoors and nobody needed to be concerned about the rain.
After the ceremony, we raced against the clock for the portraits and once we were finished with the more traditional family portraits – Sara and Mike along with Sara’s Sister; Janet who stood in as a model all headed out for some fantastic night romantic portraits. Everyone was a trooper for the namesake of art and I was able to capture another “Stormy Romance” portrait with moonlight, storm couds and stars in the sky. Their reception was more like Club Sara & Mike as we all partied throughout the night to everything from classic rock, hip hop and disco.
