Good morning from EPHQ in Huntington Beach – just behind the “Curtain” in Orange County everyone!  An interesting thing happened this past week with my email & the MTV Video Music Awards.  I received one email from Ticketmaster and one email from Goldenvoice both letting me know of the current artists that are coming to town.  I noticed in both emails that there was a European artist from Sweden that I really liked and she was coming to town.

Now sadly, I totally forgot about the two emails in the myriad of my never-ending inbox, but was totally reminded of her when I was watching the MTV Video Music Awards while “Live” Yahoo Instant Messaging and sharing the experience with my good friend & fellow photographer AND creator of Photography Silo; Mr. Lawrence Atienza.  In fact, if you were watching the VMAs, you would have seen how MTV cut to commercial when she was performing her new hit song; “Dancing On My Own.”  I had no idea she was going to be on & I’ve been following her since 2008 before I went to London for Erin & Philip’s Engagement Shoot with her hit song; “Dream On” – so when I saw her on the VMAs, I was like… WHEW HEW!!!  I need to score my ticket.

If you missed it and you’re not too familiar with the artist, her name is Robyn and she is hands down a phenomenal Swedish recording artist and singer-songwriter. Robyn became known in the late nineties for her worldwide dance-pop hits “Show Me Love” and “Do You Know (What It Takes)” from her debut album Robyn Is Here (1997). Robyn entered Melodifestivalen 1997 as a songwriter with the entry “Du gör mig hel igen” (You Make Me Whole Again). She has since started to gain mainstream success worldwide owing to the popularity of her #1 hit single “With Every Heartbeat” and subsequent album release. In January 2009 Robyn won a Swedish Grammis award for Best Live Act 2008.

So I just have to share with you Robyn’s music with you for this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  I decided to share “Dream On” which was the first song that I heard of Robyn and her latest one that I totally love “Dancing On My Own.”  Both songs are similar, yet different.  But I would have to say that I like “Dancing On My Own” more as it’s very synth/bubble gum pop/dance/80’s styled.

But before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer that is stuck in the 80′s with fashion, music and videos, feel free to contact me anytime.

So without further ado, I give you Robyn in “Dream On” and “Dancing On My Own.”  So feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage, enjoy the videos, and if you like what you hear & see, score a ticket to the show coming up in November & let’s meet up for some Nachos & Newcastles afterwards.

Have an awesome West Coast Wednesday and also remember to make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

PS, Be sure to check back in 24 – 48 hours as I’ll be dropping the 12 hour (yes you read that right – twelve hour) Engagement Shoot I did for Shelby & Matt.  It started at Disneyland, then the Wild Animal Park in San Diego & then back up at their home in Orange.

Laguna Beach Portrait Photography
Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone! Well if you’ve been holding your breath for this event to go live, then you can totally stop & start breathing again.

When my good friend Michelle from Studio Z down in San Diego rang me up and asked if I would be willing to do her new portraits for her company, I was totally excited and flattered at the same time.

Michelle & I have had the awesome experiences of shooting together from Orange County to San Diego for each other.  So this time she turned the tables on her & I was asked to photographer her & Bill (aka; Kill Bill that I so affectionately nick-named him during the photo shoot).  AND!  She gave me full creative freedom too.  Can I say that basically Christmas came early for me.  I got to do portraits of my good friend Michelle and have full creative freedom too.

Fast forward to the shoot & I had several of my favourite spots in downtown Laguna Beach that I wanted to hit for their portraits.  By the time we were doing their photo shoot, I had already pre-visualized just about the entire thing with what I wanted to do & how it would look.

Afterward their photo shoot, we headed up to Big Fish in on Pacific Coast Highway just a few blocks south of downtown Laguna Beach for some celebratory beers & a delicious dinner.  All in all, I was very happy with their photo shoot & so glad that I chose Laguna Beach for it too as it was the perfect location for the various looks I wanted to do for them.

But before you check out Michelle & Kill Bill’s portrait photo shoot in downtown Laguna Beach, California and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach that wants to enjoy life to the fullest and share a toast with his colleagues celebrating a phenomenal portrait shoot, feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via Twitter, Facebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, here is a scrumptious slide show of Michelle & Kill Bill’s Laguna Beach photo shoot that I put together.  I’d like to send a big shout out to Michelle & Bill for allowing me the opportunity to do this photo shoot.  It’s one thing when I’m commissioned to do a photo shoot for people I don’t know, but when I’m asked to do it of my colleagues who are “Friends of Mine (No pun intended with the Duran Duran reference!) – it’s taken to the “HNL” (Ho…. Nuh-thah…. leh-veh!).  And they used the photo above for a new business card for their Business Card too that I shared with you back in August!

Also!  I hope you’re having a great start to your weekend & come back by soon for some more yumminess I have to share with you.  I’ll be hitting the red carpet again this evening in Laguna Beach where Pierce Brosnan is receiving an award, so I’m pretty jazzed to share those with you soon too.  Cheers!

Good morning from Huntington Beach, California everyone!  This week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week was accidentally discovered when I was looking up the new DJ Tiësto music that is dropping.  I found this gem of a song that DJ Tiësto remixed of Charlie Dée and in true form & fashion DJ Tiesto delivers spot on.

Until now, I was not familiar with Charlie Dée and now I’m really wrapping my arms her music.  It’s totally introspective like Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell.  A delicious veritable cornucopia of colourful melodies, meaningful lyrics and the gentle, lingering vocals of Charlie Dée.  How perfect is that!  What I also thought was interesting was when I looked up Charlie Dée’s website and there was a lot of reference to Joni Mitchell – who was one of the first artists that came to my mind.  Too cool!

I saw on her website that Charlie Dée will be touring this fall, so with a little luck, she would be coming to Southern California.  Or maybe DJ Tiësto would come to Southern California and she could make a guest appearance.  Similar to when Tori Amos performed with BT for BT’s hit song; Blue Skies.

Before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer that is on the bleeding edge of amazing fashion, music and videos, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you DJ Tiësto’s remix of Charlie Dée’s “Have it all” for the West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  Also, I couldn’t just give you DJ Tiësto’s remix, but also the original version by Charlie Dée… AND… a special treat too.  If you wanted to really kick your West Coast Wednesday off properly, I’ve included an hour long  mix from DJ Tiësto too.

Sit back, enjoy your favourite morning beverage and don’t just have an awesome West Coast Wednesday for yourself, but make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

Orange County Wedding Portrait Photographer

Good evening from Huntington Beach everyone!  Have I got a yummy treat for you.  If you’ve been following me on Twitter or on Facebook back over the July 4th holiday- you would have seen some updates that came through when I was on location for a portrait shoot of Stephen Arnold from F & C Creations in downtown Huntington Beach.

If you saw the Jewelry Shoot that I did for Stephen in downtown Huntington Beach as well, you would have seen the influence of and European modern design that inspired Stephen to create a jewelry company that could bridge this influence with traditional American glamour.  Steering away from traditional American over load of pave stones, frills, and lace as well as adding more dimensions to the hard architectural designs of European Modern, Stephen has created F and C Creations, a true American contemporary artist.  Art combined with simple shapes, art you can wear.

By now I bet you’re dying to see some of the photos from the shoot & since I know no other way other than to go 100% or go home – I’ve got a few to share with you from the photo shoot we did on location in Huntington Beach.

But before you check out the portraits I did of Stephen and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California who loves to shoot rock-n-roll inspired night portraits, feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I hope you’re having a great start to your week & check back very soon.  I’ll have some more scrumptious photos to share with you from all of the events that I’ve been shooting this summer – cheers!

Good afternoon from Huntington Beach everyone! It seems like this is the summer of non-stop shooting for me.  For every week for what seems like an eternity, I’ve been photographing all over California from Ventura, to Los Angeles, to Riverside, to San Diego and all corners of Orange County.  This has been a huge blessing for me and I am so thankful that I have been able to serve so many new friends and continuing to serve old friends.

But!  This season of non-stop shooting has kept me from blogging.   Before September 1st, I was 12 events behind.  YES – you read that right, 12 events – YIKES!  As I’ve been buried in emails, album designs, meetings, deliverables, and the occasional fleeting 1 hour hi & goodbyes here & there with Katherine every day.

Fast forward to today and I’m so excited to share a very special couple with you.  You may remember Erin & Kevin from their Engagement Shoot that I did back in November last year at the Irvine Regional Park in (yes, you guessed it) Irvine, California.  If you missed it, I have a special treat for you after their wedding.

Erin & Kevin’s wedding and reception was held at the Dove Canyon Country Club.  Their wedding day was not just gorgeous, but delicious with all the colours and scents of flowers and wild plants everywhere you walked.  Pretty much a blank canvas to be filled with a veritable cornucopia of memories of their wedding day captured by me.

Erin’s wedding gown from Maggie Sottero was stunning.  Erin paired her wedding gown with a timeless pair of stems from Coloriffics and put a six pence on them for good fortune.  She looked like royalty that would be the envy of any princess!

From the beginning of their wedding day overlooking Dove Canyon to my Signature Romantic Portraits we did after their ceremony and the absolutely freakin’ cool FLASH MOB that they did for their 1st dance, Erin & Kevin’s wedding was a day and night I’ll never forget.  I even had the honour of working side-by-side with my friend; Mike McCaleb from Mission Visual who videotaped their wedding (and the Flash Mob!) and DJ Ryan from United DJ Productions kept the party going off all the way to the end.

I would like to send a special shout out to Kamronn Moffett, Becky Halbreich and Lorraine Paschall at the Dove Canyon Country Club.  The three of them along with their awesome staff over-seeing every detail, and all the needs of the guests made what I do easier and a LOT more fun.

But before you check out Erin & Kevin’s wedding at the Dove Canyon Country Club and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Orange County Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, California that wants to enjoy life to the fullest, feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

So without further ado, here is Erin & Kevin’s wedding in a yummy and delicious slide show that I put together.  If you’d like to order scrumptious professional prints and canvas wraps, I have a private gallery for them on Pictage too.

Have a great Labour Day Holiday weekend & come back by soon for some more yumminess I am dying to share with you from many other events that are still in the hard drives at EP HQ – cheers!

PS, I also have a fun video just below their wedding video of their Engagement Shoot that I did back in November 2009.  So it’s a bit of a double-treat for ya.  Enjoy!
