dane_sandersGood afternoon from Irvine & Huntington Beach, California everyone! Today we chatted with my good friend; Dane Sanders – the author of Fast Track Photographer to talk about ways in managing your tasks and to-do lists better so that you can effectively spend your time better.

As an owner of a small business – running your own business can be a daunting task, especially if you’re a one man show taking care of all the aspects of it. And! To make matters more intense – photographers are artists first & business people second, which is wherein lies the majority of our struggles.

I recently went to the Fast Track Photographer Roadshow in San Diego & had my eyes opened to an amazing world of better time management along with stronger tools and services to help me run and build my business not only to be more efficient – but able to service my clients better.

So when we were chatting about this last week, we thought it would be great to share this knowledge with our colleagues to help them build and grow their businesses as well.

Dane shared just about an hour’s worth of wisdom with us & you’re more than welcome to download and subscribe to our Camera Dojo podcast by clicking the button below.

I hope you’re having a great West Coast Wednesday & enjoy – cheers!

Coming to ya live straight out of Huntington Beach, California in Orange County is this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week. Have I got a treat for you!

If you remember back in January, I shared with you a song titled “Miracle” by Oceanlab & since then, I’ve been following an amazing podcast from Above & Beyond with their fantastic trance tunes with their collection; “Trance Around The World.”  Well I found a killer song by Above & Beyond called Alone Tonight & I thought it is a great track to get your day going for this holiday week.

So typically I would say, sit back & enjoy your favourite morning beverage – but this week take a different stance.  Jump up out of your chair, clap your hands above your head and start dancing right where you’re at celebrating your life, your gifts that you’ve been given and all the wonderful possibilities that lie before you on the path of your life.

Celebrate your life and have a great 4th of July holiday week – cheers!

0029Good evening everyone!  I just got back behind the Orange Curtain in Huntington Beach, CA in my office from spending some terrific time up in Santa Monica for Melissa & Mikael’s Engagement Shoot.

I first met Melissa at a trade show about a month ago & the two of us hit it off right away.  So when she called me later than afternoon and told me that she wanted me to photograph her wedding, I knew it was hand-in-glove.

When we met up at Casa del Mar in Santa Monica to have a quick beverage before we started their shoot – I found out that Mikael was a downhill roller blader. When they told me that I was like; OMG – our paths just about crossed when I was shooting for the XGames.  But I shot the totally insane vert & street inline skating.

Here are a few of my favourites from their Engagement Shoot and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did capturing them – cheers!

Good evening from roasty-toasty Huntington Beach, California everyone! I just got in from an incredible day down in Dana Point photographing Ashley & James’ wedding for my good friend Chris Diset.

You may remember Chris from our Ride and Shoot that we did a couple of months ago.  He’s a totally awesome photographer, motorcycle rider and a good friend.  So when he called me early this morning down ill with a nasssssty flu bug and asked me to fill in for him – I was more than happy to help him out.  So since I keep all my gear ready like a fireman ready for anything – it was nothing for me to head down to Dana Point and photograph Ashley & James’ wedding.

Their wedding and reception was held at the Chart House in Dana Point, CA where Ken Rosnagle & Amanda Knous and their team oversaw Ashley & James’ wedding with the red carpet service that everyone likes to receive.

The wedding was held outside overlooking the bay and Art The DJ kept the afternoon hopping for all the guests with the best mix of tunes for everyone.

I hope you enjoyed a few of my favourites from their wedding day & have a super weekend – cheers!

I wish I was writing you a note from my office in Huntington Beach with a happy story, but unfortunately I’m not. I really wanted to mark this moment in our history that a legend known to all corners of the earth has passed away at 2:26 p.m. Pacific today. Michael Jackson passed away today at the young age of 50 years old just a few weeks before he was to kick off his tour at the O2 arena in London.

Michael Jackson was an inspirational person to me from his music to his dancing moves as well. I learned how to moon walk watching his videos, learned so much from his music videos for my work in music and photography and now as of today, I will not be able to enjoy his artistry any more.

Regardless of the scandals and media hype that he endured from his childhood to today, he will be greatly missed here at Esquire Photography HQ. I hope that he is finally able to have some peace in his life and we’ll be praying for his family & friends around the world.

Myself having endured several near death experiences in my life, I know that life is precious and I hope that you recognize this as well. Appreciate what you’ve been given, where you’re at & the life that you have.

May you and your families and friends be blessed.

David
