Good Morning Everyone! Here’s an excellent tidbit for you to check out in this week’s Wedding Tip.  The age-old question comes up with every couple and it came up with Katherine & I.  Whether you should you choose a classic, or a unique First Dance song?  Nina Calloway over at About.com had this to share.

This DJ survey of popular wedding music and first dance songs has been making the rounds of the wedding blogosphere lately. Many bloggers are pointing to it as good place to find suggestions for your first dance.

There is a reason these songs are so popular; they’ve got beautiful lyrics and music, and tempos that work well for dancing. But many couples we know struggle to find a song that not only fits their relationship, but is also unique. They don’t want a song that their guests will have heard at another wedding. So they purposefully avoid songs on lists such as these.

Will you go for a song that is classic or unique? Check out this list of first dance songs. It’s a good mix of the classics, new songs, and ones you probably haven’t thought of in a long time.

And, as we always share with our couples – the bottom line is to go with what you want.  We have heard and seen everything from AC/DC’s: “Hell’s Bells” to this past weekend’s USC Trojan Marching Band coming in with Amy & Sean for their grand entrance.

Alright, stop what you’re doing, cuz I’m about to ruin, the image & the style that you’re used to!

This week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week has been a popular song with my brother; Tony and I for years.  It’s “Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground.  If it’s playing at a club or a party & we’re both there – you’ll find the two of us doing our best to “flow” to the song.  I know, I know, not our proudest moments that you’ll see.  But hey – ya gotta let lose & have fun!

And if you’re familiar with a lot of this genre of music, you’ll also notice that the music is a sample from “Can’t Truss It” by Public Enemy.

Good Evening Everyone! I just got in from our 3rd wedding in two days & I must say finishing my weekend with Carrie & Bradey was a perfect way to end a wild & crazy schedule. :)

Their day started off at the Bible Fellowship Church in Ventura where I met up with Bradey & his men for a few quick snaps in the church. Then upstairs to catch Carrie with her ladies as they all put the finishing touches on some details.

The ceremony was lovely and before you knew it we were snapping away with their formal portraits inside the church & then getting a little crazy outside on the front lawn. I do believe that there was a bit of a Charlie’s Angels scene reenacted too!

Once we were done playing around outside the church, we headed to The Wedgewood Golf Club where Patrick and his impeccable staff made sure that everyone’s needs were totally met. I must say that I love working at The Wedgewood as I’m never treated like some hired shooter, but like family. Which makes what I do that much more enjoyable!

There was pleanty of food, drink & dancing that went on throughout the night with a grand finale exit – where Carrie & Bradey were met by the die-hard partiers who greeted them with a SERIOUSLY decorated car! Carrie & Bradey even had a “special” gift inside their car too and I’ll just leave it there to keep this a family-styled posting. LOL!!!

Good Evening!  I just got in from a whirlwind wedding & reception with Amy & Sean and all I have to say is that they truly KNOW HOW TO PARTY!

About a month ago, I was invited by Cherie of CherieFoto to shoot with her on a wedding coming up on August 9th. CherieFoto is one of the most well known & world-renown photographers in the commercial, fashion & wedding industry today. So for me to have been rung up by her to shoot side-by-side is an opportunity of a lifetime! So of course I said yes!

On to their big day… Their wedding was held at the prestigious Beverly Hills Hotel in the 90210 & with the sun going down it was a veritable cornucopia of colours, fashion and fun.  Amy was stunning in all three (YES I Said Three) gowns that she quickly changed into throughout her wedding day and Sean was sharp as a razor’s edge.

During the ceremony, Amy’s father’s speech was interrupted by a surprise call from the presidential candidate; Barack Obama (not really… but it was fun!) and for the reception, Amy & Sean had a spectacular introduction.  They were followed in by the USC Trojan Marching Band!  OMG!  It was SO AWESOME!  They played for about 30 minutes and even the HUGE hit “Tusk” that was recorded with Fleetwood Mac.

As I’m sitting here typing this, the hairs on the back of my neck are totally standing up!  I’m so thankful that I had the honour of photographing their wedding day and it will go down as one of the best ones I have been a part of ever!

There is the old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I think that our little video sampler is worth more than all the gold at Fort Knox.
