Good Evening! Today was a serene and peaceful day spent with two of the nicest and coolest people you will ever know. Last year, we worked with Michelle & Josh for their Engagement Shoot which provided all of us an opportunity to get to know each other better. Which is great so the “ice breaker” time is spent on our 1/2 day Engagement Shoots instead of during the formal portraits on the wedding day.

Our day started out at The Extended Stay America on Willow in Long Beach. Michelle & her attendants were having their hair & makeup done before we headed next door to The Grand for her bridal suite for the finishing touches.

When we popped over to The Grand for the ladies to finish getting ready, we headed down to the foyer of The Grand for us to do our signature romantic and artistic portraits. A little bit of furniture redecorating and viola! An incredible space to do our shoot in.

After we wrapped up the ladies, Josh & his men arrived and we could do some “Godfather” inspired portraits of them men. Eventually it turned into a contest as the men were seeing who could outdo each other with the posing. Totally Cool!

The ceremony was gorgeous in the courtyard and we “killed it” with the portraits after the ceremony. Everyone was super cooperative as we needed to create timeless traditional portraits that every family member could enjoy for years to come.

As I’m sitting here writing about Michelle & Josh’s wedding day, I feel as if we’re all family now and I must say that I didn’t want tonight to end either as there was feasting and dancing everywhere you went. You may have even seen a wedding photographer doing a bit of ballroom with some of the ladies from Minnesota too. Hmm… I wonder who that could have been?!?

Here is a snippet of some of my favourites from their wedding day & I hope you enjoy them as much as I did capturing them – cheers!

Wedding Photographer David Esquire PhotographyGood evening/morning! I just spent the most amazing 12 hours with Erin & Philip along with their friends and family for an encore of their love story – “Romance Defined.” You may remember the signature beautiful, artistic and romantic portraits we did with them in London UK for their Engagement Shoot back in April and today was the icing on the cake for the beginning of their new lives together.

Today started out at The Queen Mary in downtown Long Beach as the Erin & her ladies in waiting were getting ready in her bridal suite. There was no shortage of laughs and good times as we all took care of the finishing touches for everyone. Once all the ladies looked as if we were heading to a royal ball in Wales, we headed to Loyola Marymount to meet with Philip in his full dress uniform (Philip is a Captain and Pilot for the Irish Air Force) with his best men.

Erin & Philip’s ceremony was heavenly and there weren’t many dry eyes in the church as Erin came down the aisle. After the ceremony, we were able to do more of our signature artistic and romantic portraits with a touch of traditionalism to give their portraits a timeless look they can look back on over the years.

The minute we were done with all the portraits, Erin & Philip headed out of the church for an Honour Guard procession, into a 37 Packard and they were whisked away for a romantic and scenic drive back to the Queen Mary where everyone was getting ready for the P A R T Y.

The reception was wonderful as Tim from DJ’s To Go spun the grand swinging music of yesteryear & the “new flavour for your ears” of today’s modern music aficionado. Erin & Philip’s evening was topped off with our moon-lit, night-romantic photoshoot on the deck of the Queen Mary. There was even a phone booth from London too! Imagine that!

Working with Erin & Philip has been a vision of inspiration that was perfectly orchestrated with fierce and frightening levels of beauty and creativity that we all were pleased with. Here are some of my favourites from their magical day. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did photographing them – cheers!

kirstenmarcblog2004.jpgThis must be “Testimonial Tuesday!!!” We just received an veritable cornucopia of beautiful words from Kirsten about her Wedding. Check this out!

Hi David,

I really can’t believe that a month has already gone by since our wedding. We had the best time! Everything turned out absolutely perfect. You took some gorgeous pictures from what we’ve seen so far, so we can’t wait for the rest.

I cannot express how much Marc and I enjoyed working with you. You manage to find such a perfect balance between crazy fun and absolute professionalism. You were so great at keeping it fun while still moving things along when we had a time frame to work with. Many of our guests commented on how great you were, and I couldn’t help but once again feel so lucky that we found you. I really hope we have the opportunity to work with you again soon! So once again, thank you for being such an important part of our wedding and helping to preserve our happiest day!!!

I hope you and your wife are well and things are busy (but not too busy!). Talk to you soon!

Many thanks,

Kirsten (Albert, hahaha)

Beautiful email from her indeed!

I hope your week is as blessed as ours is – cheers!

David you were so wonderful making your way through the crowds of people. You just blended in with everyone stopping to talk to a few (yea I caught you)…lol. I cant wait to see all the shots that you got…the sneak peak photos are great and I can only imagine how the others will turn out! Thank you so much for being a part of another big milestone in our lives…I know that there will many more to come and we would love to have you a part of them!”

I truly love what I do & it is great to know that what we’re doing is making a difference in this wild & crazy world.

This is definitely the desert to a great dinner tonight – cheers!
