kirstenmarcblog1000.jpgGood Evening! I just got in from a great wedding with Kirsten & Marc. You may remember their fun Engagement Shoot we did in Seal Beach back in February. They both are quite the pair; dynamic, outgoing, fun and overflowing with a deep love for each other.

Well let me tell you that their personalities are completely mirrored by the 200+ people that attended today at the Palos Verdes Country Club. If you haven’t been to the Palos Verdes Country Club, you’re definitely missing out. The property is headed by the detail oriented Michelle Nichol who’s team met every detail.

And, then there’s my good friend; Linda duPlaine Gray at A Wedding Store who coordinated Kirsten & Marc’s AMAZING day from start to finish. With the dynamic duo of Linda & Michelle at the helm – everyone’s needs were met through & through.

I’m so blessed that I was able to photograph not only their engagement shoot, but their wedding too. So many aspects of their day was captured. We had the walk along the green, the portraits in the fireplace room, which by the way was the ladies bar back in 1926 when the property was built, to a bit of cock-n-bull with Marc & a couple of his closest friends. We all truly had a blast! Some of Kirsten’s family got together for a sing along at the piano too!

Here are just a few of my favourites from their day & I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

Cheers!

  • Kirsten & Marc Testimonial! - […] We just received an veritable cornucopia of beautiful words from Kirsten about her Wedding.  Check this out! Hi […]

Two words come to mind when I think of what we did with Erin & Philip in London for their engagement shoot. “Romance, Defined.”

Their shoot was purely, simply, adoringly, lovingly beautiful. So that’s why I feel that their shoot is best explained as; “Romance, Defined.”

We started off at a local cafe down the street from The Oliver Plaza Hotel where we were staying and chatted over the locations we would like to go to over excellent coffee drinks.

Once we had an idea of what we wanted to do, we popped down to the tube & got the day started.

We went to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, The London Eye, and Notting Hill just to name a few of the stops. And, even though the weather turned traditional English, Erin & Philip were total troopers as we braved the wind, rain & crowds.

I had a very difficult time sorting through the numerous beautiful photographs that we took, but here is just a small sample of what I captured through the lens.

As I said… “Romance, Defined.”

Have a super week – cheers!

Good morning everyone!

We’ve had some connectivity setbacks since we’ve been here – so I thought I would drop everyone a note from a computer at a local cafe. Which by the way has the most AMAZING coffees that I have had EVER!!!

Katherine & I have seen MANY sights since we’ve been here and we’re actually off to the meet up with my friend – the Queen Mum after I wrap up this note.

Our trip has been an experience of a life time and I am very eager to come back ASAP. Stay tuned for our return as I will have a LOT of photos to share with you along with many many stories.

I need to head out now, but before we pound the pavement – I must get another fabulous coffee for ‘take away.’ That’s how you say it here in London; ‘take away’ and not to go.

Looking forward to sharing everyone with everyone upon our return – cheers!!!

friartux.jpgOk gentlemen! We have just partnered with Friar Tux and are currently giving all of our elite bridal couples a gift certificate for $30.00 that you can apply to your Wedding Tuxedo order. Which means we are able to put a couple bucks back into your pocket. And, when you’re planning a wedding – every greenback counts!

If you’re not familiar with Friar Tux, check this out… Friar Tux Shop was founded in May of 1974 in Lakewood, California (I’ve been to that store when my brother was fitted for my wedding!). In the beginning there was one energetic young man running the shop. From early on, however, there was plenty of family support: Mom provided the catchy name and Dad provided a vision. Brother joined in soon to help with the increase in business. The recipe was simple: stir in lots of selection and quality, then blend this with generous amounts of impeccable customer service and reasonable pricing. Like Esquire Photography, Friar Tux Shop was a success!

Today, more than three decades later, Friar Tux Shop is a leader in men’s formalwear in Southern California as well as a respected national figure. They’ve grown to dozens of locations from their single store in Lakewood, and have one of the largest collections of tuxedos and accessories in the United States. Despite having more than 200 employees, they’re still a family business (even if their family is a bit larger now!), and still operate under the same recipe for success as they did back in 1974.

As they look towards their 40th anniversary, they can also look back at more than a million customers who have trusted their special event clothing to Friar Tux Shop. Whether it’s a wedding, a high school prom, a Quiñceanera, the Academy Awards or a fraternity dance, Friar Tux Shop has been and remains the authority in men’s special event attire.

So! Now that you know that you can save a few dollars, call your local Friar Tux Shop. Or you can call my good friends; Jason or Nick the South Coast Plaza location at: 714.751.4199, they’re located at: 3333 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Let them know that you’re with us and they will give you the royal treatment.

Have a super week – cheers!

union-jack.jpgGood Evening! I wanted to let you know that we will be leaving this Thursday morning to do an engagement shoot for Erin & Philip in… LONDON! A Dream Come True!!!

The next couple of days are your last opportunity to chat on the phone for any brief consultations or review any questions you may have for your photography. Since we’ve been shooting and in post up to the very last minutes, we haven’t packed yet & need the last few days to ensure we’re prepared for the trip.

If you do miss us before we leave, please leave a voice mail or send us an email & we will get back to you as quickly as possible when we’re back.

Speaking of, we’ll be back state-side just before Kirsten & Marc’s wedding April 5th. And, in the office on Monday, April 7th – but stay in touch with the website as we’re going to do our best to post some photos of our travels and Erin & Philip’s engagement shoot.

Talk to everyone soon and if I’m lucky I’ll have a bit of an accent when I return – cheers!
