I absolutely love it! I can’t wait to see all of the pictures. Took some votes at work and soo far the winning picture is the one at the beach with the pier in the background! Everyone loves it. I’m not so sure about my individual photo, however, I do love the picture of Marc. I can’t wait for the rest of the pictures!!!! I want you to know how much WE truly appreciate your time and Katherine’s time last weekend. We are truly blessed to have you guys in our corner and on our team!! Sarah is just like me; uber critical of our own photos. That’s why I’m behind the camera & not in front of it like I was when I was a Ralph Lauren model back in the day.

And can I just say… This is worth more than it’s weight in gold!

And, can I just say… I LOVE MY JOB!!!

johnmariablog1002.jpgI have to say that there are a lot of churches that I’ve been in around the country, but St. Luke Orthodox Church in Garden Grove blew me away! With it’s gold accents, stained glass and medieval paintings of religious figures, I felt like I was in an old-world church in Europe.

Maria arrived with her entourage of ladies while John-William and his krew of attendants roamed through the back rooms of the church. When Maria walked down the aisle, she appeared to be floating on air while the choir was singing hymnals in an old Celtic tone.

Afterwards, we headed next door to the church’s fellowship hall to accompany the 200+ guests and family for the reception. Before everything kicked off, everyone enjoyed a light assortment of appetizers, fruit punch and company. But then the surprises began as John-William had an emotional toast he gave to Maria and Maria sang a heavenly ballad to John-William that had everyone in tears. She had the most beautiful voice!

What a fabulous way to wrap up a terrific weekend and here are a handful of some of my favourites from the day – cheers!

sarahmarc1001.JPGMy Mamma always said, life is like a photoshoot… you’ll have all kinds of fun if you’re open to it! Today we had an urgent request from Sarah & Marc for an engagement shoot for their upcoming wedding on October 20th this year. They originally had something planned with a friend of the family, but kept running into road block after road block as their friend wasn’t following through with what was going to happen.

We’ve heard this so many times from friends of wedding couples that we work with – wishing they hadn’t hired a friend of the family because the photos weren’t what they expected or a million of the other stories that we’ve heard over the years. BUT! I’M SO HONOURED that we had the opportunity today to get to know Sarah & Marc so much more during our morning engagement photoshoot on Main Street in Huntington Beach. We met at Starbucks, I got caffeinated up & we all headed out for the most laughs & jokes we’ve all had in a long time.Here’s just a small sample of some of the photos that we did today – cheers!

lewismarstonblog1002.JPGThere is something to be said about Palos Verdes. It is one of the more tranquil locations in California for a wedding. When you combine the cliffs, the breeze, and a beautiful wedding party – you have the perfect ingredients for an amazing day.

We started off the day having fun at the Malaga Cove Library in Palos Verdes for portraits and getting silly around all the shops around the downtown PV area. Afterwards we headed to a friend of the family’s house where Becka & Mike were married in front of 175 close friends & family.

Their wedding was set under big oak trees and a gazebo that kept their cake sheltered from the sunset. And, their reception looked like a disco set up in the yard! They had oriental lamps strung around the reception area, twinkle lights and a black & white dance floor that reminded me of Saturday Night Fever. Totally AWESOME!
