This evening was absolutely spectacular & wonderful with Ashley & Joshua. Their wedding was in the valley at the Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City – which was a terrific choice for them because they needed one of their largest ballrooms for the 200+ guests that attended their day.

The ceremony was set in their back patio with the sun setting over the trees. Ashley & Joshua also had a little surpise for their friends and family as they released white doves into the sky at the end of the ceremony. Picture perfect for anyone that had a camera in hand!

Their reception started off with a fairy tale dance as they waltzed across the floor atop a cloud as bubbles popped through the air & filled the room. There was pleanty of gags and laughs as the DJ kept things going and Ashley had the last “word” with the cake cutting. AWESOME!

I was very excited to have been chosen for Amber & Robert’s wedding photography as they were referred to me through my good friend; Dave at the Lion’s Club in Seal Beach, California.

Being from the East Coast, our initial chats were through a few emails and one very brief phone call. Amber & Robert flew in to wrap up some of the wedding plans just a few weeks before the big day and that was when we had our first in-person meeting; at Z Tejas at the South Coast Plaza (Yummy! Great tortilla soup!).

The described how they really wanted their day to be as easy & fun as possible and with that said, I knew that we were a perfect fit.

Their wedding was at The Wyndham Orange County near the South Coast Plaza and it was absolutely beautiful. It was set aside a lake surrounded by trees, lion-head fountains and beautifuly manicured garden setting. Truly an ideal way to start your life off as a newly married couple.

Thank You Denise Boersma at The Wyndham! As always, she coordinated a flawless event for Amber & Robert and she has a special way of making the day that much more fun for the family & friends too.

Here are a few of my favourites from Amber & Robert’s Day – cheers!

Heather & Joseph gave me what a photographer would only hope to get & that is a “blank check” to photograph their weddng. I was told to “go for it” and have fun with my photography and break some of the molds that you typically see in wedding photography. What a blessing!

While Heather was getting ready she asked me if we could do something a little different as she wanted to give Joseph a boudiour photograph as a gift from their day. Having worked in the fashion, glamour & boudiour industry throughout the years, this was not a problem for me as I’m comfortable in that environment. One of her bridesmaids helped position some of the props in the background and we all had a blast doing the shoot.

Their wedding was at the Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside and it is hands-down beautiful. The cermony was just before sunset so the light was perfect and after all the formals and family portraits we spent some time on the rolling hills of the country club capturing the love that they have for each other in some spectacular photographs.

The reception followed with a delicious dinner and they even had a candy table next to the gift table filled with gourmet jelly beans, chocolate covered pretzels and pleanty of fruit & rich cheeses. I even spent a little time with their wedding rings and had some fun with the fruit & candy table.

Carlie & Michael set out to do one really big thing with their wedding; Break Traditions. From Carlie’s fish-net hose & monster’s of rock white patent leather platform boots to entering their reception to the Personal Jesus song covered by Marilyn Manson – they made sure this was “their” wedding.

The celebrated their wedding at the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey and it was a total riot! They had party favours that reminded me of New Year’s Eve in Times Square and a cupcake tower instead of a traditional cake. Even their dog; Chopper was in on all the fun!

Their wedding and reception was a mirror-reflection of what their personalities are; vibrant, colourful, outgoing, and full of life! I’m confident that they will have a blast walking their path together which I’m sure will be full of friends, laughter & love.
