Good evening from caffeinated HQ of Esquire Photography in Orange County everyone!  I’m one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who is totally beside himself with all the blessings of exciting Engagement Shoots, Portraits, Quinceañeras, and Weddings I’ve been photographing from Newport Beach down to San Diego and all the way up to Oakland.

As if that wasn’t enough going on – I’m sure you saw on Twitter & Facebook the two MEGA announcements I shared this past weekend.

One of which is the Military Promotion that launched on Saturday.  I had the honour of giving it to Ali & Justin when I was up at Edward’s Air Force Base with both of their parents location scouting and going over details for their Lancaster Wedding Day I’m photographing next August.

The other HUGE announcement I shared is the Workshop I’m teaching with my good friend & fellow photographer Danny in Paris France.  Can I just say; “Wholly Nachos & Newcastles!”  So if you’re in Paris over Christmas break, totally let me know because the workshop is very affordable & only 100 Euros per person.

With all this talk about helping brides & grooms who are active in the military save money on their wedding photography and helping photographers with a totally MEGA gorgeous location called; Paris, France save some money with a workshop – it only felt appropriate to share this awesome story from my friends at Elegala on establishing a wedding budget.

With the average wedding cost at over $25,000, it’s no wonder tackling the budget is one of the most overwhelming tasks on your to-do list.  We’ve come up with a few steps to help you put it all in perspective and build a plan of attack.

3 Simple Steps To Establishing A Wedding Budget

Step 1: Talk to all contributing parties
As the cost of weddings increase, so does the number of people paying for them (good news for the bride’s parents, who no longer need to take out a second mortgage to fund their daughter’s nuptials). You’ll need to sit down with everyone who is going to contribute to the wedding-day piggy bank and discuss how to logically divide the tab and arrive at a total number.

The old-school rules dictating who pays for what are meant to be broken, but you can definitely use these wedding etiquette guidelines on who pays for what as a starting point for your budget discussion.

Step 2: Allocate totals for each service accordingly
Now that you’ve arrived at a reasonable total budget, you’ll need to determine where that money is going to go. Come up with a list of items/vendors/details you’ll need, and how much you’ll allocate to each.  Then you can customize each amount based on your style and priorities. For instance, if a fabulous wedding gown is particularly important to you, you may splurge in that area, and make up for it by cutting back on your floral arrangements.

Step 3: Get a system and start saving
You’ll need to establish a reliable method to keep track of all savings and expenditures. There are endless ways to save and track your finances, from sophisticated software to old-fashioned spreadsheets. You can download easy-to-use budgeting software at My Wedding OrganizerFive Star Software or Elm Software for $29.95.

Bank It
If you’ve already got a hefty seed to put down for your affair, talk with your financial institution about the best way to accrue interest leading up to your big day. A seemingly nominal interest rate can mean the difference between Vera Wang and hand-me-downs. Just be sure to open an account separate from your personal savings so that you won’t be tempted to dip into the funds and ultimately find yourself in the hole.

Save Smart
If you are starting from zero with your wedding-day savings, consider paying for as many of your expenses as possible on a credit card that amasses benefits like frequent flier miles, rewards, or cash back that can go toward your honeymoon travel.

Awesome – yes!?!  Three quick and easy steps to help save money and stick to your wedding budget.  I love it!

Good morning from the caffeinated HQ of Starbucks… er… I mean Esquire Photography in Orange County everyone!  HeHe!  I’m one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who is totally MEGA over Araceli & Daniel’s Pasadena wedding I recently had the honour of photographing.

With all the exciting Engagement Shoots, Portraits, Quinceañeras, and weddings happening from Newport Beach down to San Diego and all the way up to Fallbrook – you’re going to absolutely love Love LOVE all the details Araceli & Daniel put into their wedding day.

Araceli & Daniel’s wedding ceremony was beautiful at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple City.  Stained glass, floral arrangements by Mr. Tom Larson at Rose City Flowers, rich oak and an enourmous building with bright light was everything a traditional ceremony deserves.

Araceli was gorgeous in her David’s Bridal wedding gown, Jimmy Choo Pumps with her ladies while Daniel and his men represented proudly in their tuxedos provided by Men’s Wearhouse and classic chucks.

After their wedding ceremony & portraits – we all headed over to Brookside Golf Club, where we were welcomed into the reception all by Mr. Ben D. Goldberg for a terrific entrance to kick off the party.  Which BTW was awesome and I think you’ll have a sense of the great times we had throughout the night!

Araceli & Daniel’s Pasadena wedding day was filled with laughter, a yummy cake from Cakery Bakery, romance and tons of fun throughout the reception.  I even was able to capture some of my Signature Night Romantic portraits of them, except during the day – which was totally fun working with the sun & all the awesome rays and backlight we were beging given.

I would like to give a special shout out to Ms. Stephanie Duran – the Catering Sales Manager at Brookside Golf Club for ensuring the Araceli & Daniel’s wedding was totally perfect.  She and her team of professionals rolled out the red carpet for everyone and treated them like royalty.

I’ve put together a romantic slide show of a few of my favourites from Araceli & Daniel’s Pasadena Wedding at their church & the Brookside Golf Club below.  But before you scroll down to check it out and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.  Perhaps you’re a fan of Nachos & Newcastles (My favourite snack!) like Duran Rex and I & if so – we could always meet at Fred’s Mexican Cafe on Main & PCH in Huntington Beach.  They’re out of this world at Fred’s!

Good evening from super caffeinated Orange County everyone!  This is one amped Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that has a really cute family portrait photo shoot to share with you.

Before I share this family portrait with you, I’ve got to share some other things that are happening in Newport Beach at Esquire Photography HQ.  Over the weekend I shared on Twitter & Facebook two very HUGE announcements.  One of which is the Military Promotion that launched on Saturday.  I had the honour of giving it to Ali & Justin when I was up at Edward’s Air Force Base with both of their parents location scouting and going over details for their Lancaster Wedding Day I’m photographing for them next August.

A few years ago, I had the honour of photographing Stephanie & Lester’s gorgeous and romantic La Habra wedding.  Their wedding day was a blast & since then – we’ve all kept in touch and wouldn’t you know it – they had a little baby girl recently with the cutest nick-name; “Baby G.”  I love Love LOVE it!

Baby G is a totally MEGA cute little “Scooby Snack” too.  But even more fun is she has Lester wrapped right around her little teensie weensie fingers.  She’s definitely the sparkle in both her parent’s eyes!

We had a lot of fun for their family portraits and as I was sorting them out, I couldn’t decide which two or three to share with you – so I put together a slide show with a nice collection of my favourites from their photo shoot.

But before you scroll down to check out their slide show video and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to share some Nachos & Newcastles (My favourite snack!) and get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

PS, Check out this awesome quote I shared on Twitter keeping the “Butterfly Effect” moving forward – spreading positivity.  It’s a totally new one & I really think it is so very true.  “Ability is what you’re capable of doing.  Motivation determines what you do.  Attitude determines how well you do it.” — Lou Holtz.

PSS, Totally check out the MEGA announcement from Duran Duran on today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  You’ll love it!

Good afternoon from super caffeinated Orange County everyone!  This is one amped Newport Beach Wedding Photographer that has some really awesome and MEGA things to share with you.

Before I share today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week with ya, I’ve got to share some more things that are happening in Newport Beach at Esquire Photography HQ.  Since I’m not only a caffeine addict, but also a Twitter & Facebook ’aholic, you probably saw that I had two very HUGE announcements this past weekend.  One of which was the Military Promotion that launched on Saturday.  I had the honour of giving it to Ali & Justin when I was up at Edward’s Air Force Base with both of their parents location scouting and going over details for their Lancaster Wedding Day I’m photographing for them next August.

Ok, now I’m ready to share some funkiness with you for today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week.  You probably already know how much of a MEGA HUGE fan I am of Duran Duran.  Well they recently dropped a new music video that’s making all kinds of headlines.  Things like getting more than FOUR MILLION views in less than a week.  But that’s not the really awesome part.  Duran Duran’s “Girl Panic” music video is currently BANNED on MTV & VH1.  Can I say – AWESOME SAUCE all the way!  It’s like it’s the early 80’s all over again & Duran Duran‘s “Girls On Film” was banned.

So I think it goes without saying that today’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week needs to be Duran Duran‘s “Girl Panic” AND “Girls On Film.”  WHEW HEW!

But before you scroll down to check the music videos out and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to share some Nachos & Newcastles (My favourite snack!) and get to know this Newport Beach Wedding Photographer (Previously a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer) that loves music & fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

PSS, What do you think about Duran Duran’s “Girl Panic” video?  Too risque or are the corporate figure heads over reacting?  IMO, there’s way more risque and nastiness on prime time TV, let alone two channels we have to pay for on cable tv.

Good evening from the caffeinated HQ of Esquire Photography in Orange County everyone!  I’m one Newport Beach Wedding Photographer who is MEGA excited to share a totally romantic San Diego wedding I recently had the honour of photographing at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club.

With all the exciting Engagement Shoots, Portraits, Quinceañeras, and weddings happening from Newport Beach down to San Diego and all the way up to Fallbrook – this particular wedding that I’m sharing tonight of Alice & Jon’s special day is one of my favourites.

The minute I showed up down in San Diego for Alice & Jon’s wedding day at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club, I knew I was in for a treat as everything was set up to be perfect.

Alice was completely stunning in her Maggie Sottero wedding gown, Nina NYC Shoes & tiara from David’s Bridal.  There are so many photos throughout the day where the confidence and glamour Alice had would make Jackie Kennedy proud.

Then there’s Jon in his custom fitted Calvin Klein single breasted peak lapel tuxedo – who could easily been right off the pages of GQ magazine!

Alice & Jon’s San Diego wedding day was filled with laughter, tears of joy, romance and a little bit of silliness throughout the reception.  I even was able to capture some of my Signature Night Romantic portraits of them in the limo at the end of the day – which definitely shows off the chemistry between the two of them.

I would like to give a shout out to Michael, Aubree & Jessica at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club too – who led a brigade of professionals making sure Alice & Jon’s San Diego wedding was absolutely perfect.  You guys rock!!!

I’ve put together a beautiful slide show of just a few of my favourites from Alice & Jon’s San Diego Wedding at the Fallbrook Wedgewood Golf Club below. They’re awesome there!
