Good morning from Orange County everyone!  I’m a totally excited Wedding Photographer in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach right now!  I wanted to take a break for a moment before my day gets started and I head out to shoot a party for one of my uber awesome couples; Monique & Cesar (who’s La Habra Wedding & Los Angeles Engagement Shoot I did for them back in 2008) to a share a note I received from Ashley & David about their Monterey Wedding I had the honour of photographing at The Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa.

Check this out:

“Dear David,

I’m so sorry that it has taken us this long to write to you.  We just wanted to express our deepest gratitude for making our wedding day run smoothly.  With all of the “issues” we faced—you really made our day truly enjoyable.

We are very glad to have had you and Katherine at our sides when we were saying our I-Do’s.  With all of the last minute adjustments that had to be made—rain, reception, missing people and all; we knew that with you at the helm—our wedding day would be beautiful through photo.

Through it all, you made the girls and I feel like princesses all day long, and we knew that we would look pretty in pictures—despite wet dresses and feet.  Running around in the rain, and doing everything for us—really cemented the fact that we made the right decision in choosing Esquire Photography.

While we knew after Pam and Dave’s Wedding that we would need to look no farther than you; after our wedding—you are no longer our wedding pap; you are a close, true friend.

We look forward to our future shoots with you; and wish you all the prosperity in the world.

Ashley Pierce”

Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone!  I have got a really bright, colourful and fun Engagement Shoot that I recently did with Barbara & Steve down in San Diego to share with you today.

One of the awesome things about being a Wedding Photographer in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and San Diego is that I get to travel around Southern California to capture photographs in some really amazing locations.  One of the locations is a secret spot down in San Diego that I was at for Barbara & Steve’s Engagement Shoot.

We had a total blast during their shoot!  From the epic shots with the various San Diego buildings in the background, to the really romantic portraits we did of them kissing – it was a perfect way to kick off a weekend shooting!

So I’ll pretty much wrap it up & say that if you’re an Bride or Groom that wants to not only have a blast like we did for their San Diego Engagement Shoot – but also be able to share with your family and friends some of my Signature Romantic, Playful and Dreamy portraits – feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

Without further ado, enjoy the delicious treat of a few of my favourite portraits from their San Diego Engagement Shoot & have a fantastic Friday – cheers!

PS, If you missed it, be sure to check out the uber cool and Jagermeister sponsored; DJ Neko who I had the honour of working with as the wedding photographer for my sister; Tawnya & Kurt’s Temecula Wedding Day that I photographed at the opulent Falkner Winery. on the latest episode of “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” – where he’s sharing some terrific advice on how to save some time, some money & your sanity planning your wedding.

As I’m sure you saw in my Twitter and Facebook updates last week, I had the honour of being invited to speak at Mira Costa College in San Diego to an advanced photography class.

As I’m going through my emails, I just had to share a note that I received from the lead instructor; Peggy about her experience with me speaking at her class.

Check this out:

“Hi David,

You were a hit.  And, I would love to have you come in next fall and do two classes!  Not only are you a photographer, musician, and (did I leave one out?) you seem to be a born teacher as well.

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your time. Belinda told me you were sick but didn’t want to cancel. I hope you are feeling better now.

I am sure I will see you sometime again since you have the connection with Belinda. Isn’t she amazing? I am so proud of her.   :-)

Thank you,

Peggy”

To say that I’m beside myself and really humbled with her note doesn’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling.

To have had the honour of being a guest speaker at Mira Costa College, Fountain Valley High School and Marina High School recently is just awesome.  I LOVE being able to inspire tomorrow’s future wedding, portrait and fashion photographers!

Good morning everyone! I’m one Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer that has been enjoying my new replacement Dr. Dre Studio Headphones to the max lately.  As I’ve been working on post reduction, blogging or taking care of emails, I’ve been wearing them constantly and have reminded me how amazing and rich some of the music that I listen to really is.

One of the “Tsunamis Of Sound” (that’s what I refer to awesome bands as!) that I’ve been listening to is one of my favourite trio out of the EU: “Above & Beyond.”  They’re by far one of the most amazing, euphoric ethereal trance collection of musicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying over the years.

If you don’t know too much about Above & Beyond, totally check out this bit about them from Wikipedia.  These guys serious got their program dialed in like no-one else.

Above & Beyond are a British trance music group formed in 2000 and consists of the members Jono GrantTony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. The trio are popular in the electronic dance music scene for their forward-thinking uplifting trance productions and collaborations with renowned vocalists. They manage their own record label, Anjunabeats, which releases trance & progressive music, and they also host their own weekly radio showTrance Around the World. The group’s tracks are regularly played by well-known DJs, including Armin van BuurenGareth EmeryFerry CorstenATB, and Kyau & Albert. On 28 October 2010 DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, with Above & Beyond placed at #5 in the world.

Also, they have a fantastic Podcast on iTunes.  I subscribe to it & seriously can’t get enough of it on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

So because the guys at Above & Beyond work with so many amazing artists and band, they have one of the most amazing groups on their label  The group is Oceanlab & they’re PHENOMENAL!

Check out their history from Wikipedia.  NOW this IS a career!

“The group’s initial success was aided in part by popular trance musicians remixing their original work. The first single to be released in 2001 was the song “Clear Blue Water” which was remixed by several artists, but the most successful remix was done by Ferry Corsten. The track peaked at #48 in the UK Singles Chart in April 2002. The second single “Sky Falls Down” was released in 2002 and remixed by Armin van Buuren. The third single “Beautiful Together” was released in 2003 and was remixed by Seraque, Silvester and Signum. The single that is considered to be their break-through track is “Satellite” their fourth single which was released in 2004. It reached #19 in the UK chart in May 2004.

On 24 August 2007, “Breaking Ties” (Above & Beyond’s Analog Haven Mix), was featured on TATW #178. Audio footage of “Breaking Ties” started to surface on YouTube around October 2007. On 1 November 2007, Miraclealso appeared on YouTube. Although this was given as the title on the Above & Beyond official forum, at the time the title was unconfirmed.

McGuinness and Siljamäki of OceanLab discussed the album during an interview in RigaLatviaWe’ve been experimenting with a completely new sound – one of the tracks we’re working on right now features a 56 piece mouse choir. We went diving in Formentera too to record some noises from the dolphins.

On 14 March 2008, “Sirens of the Sea” (Above & Beyond Club Mix) premiered on Trance Around the World episode #207. It was presented as one of the new singles for the upcoming album. Prior to this, “Sirens of the Sea” (Kyau & Albert Remix) was released on Above and Beyond’Anjunabeats Volume 3.

On 7 April 2008, the single “Sirens of the Sea” was released. New remixes by SonorousCosmic Gate, Maor Levi, as well as the Kyau & Albert remix were included.

On 10 June 2008, Oceanlab’s debut album – Sirens of the Sea – was announced on the Anjunabeats website with a release date of 21 July 2008. The single, “Miracle”, appeared a week earlier on 14 July 2008. Included in the single are Above and Beyond‘s Club Mix, as well as remixes by Martin Roth, Michael Cassette and Fletch.”

But before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer that loves euphoric ethereal trance music, fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you Oceanlab with “On A Good Day” as Ashleigh Tritton’s winning video for an Above & Beyond contest .  Feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage and enjoy the euphoric ethereal music and kick off your West Coast Wednesday positively in Huntington Beach, another spot in Orange County or another part of this huge planet that we’re all a part of.

Have an awesome West Coast Wednesday and also remember to keep the “Butterfly Effect” happening and make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

Good evening from Huntington Beach everyone!  This is one wedding photographer that has once again been away from the office quite a bit over the past couple of weeks teaching at a couple high schools in Orange County, being a guest speaker at Mira Costa College in San Diego & even though I’m burning the late night energy today, cuz I am the “Energizer Esquire” as I’ve been told – I’m super excited to share with you to the next episode of “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day!

Every other week “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” is committed to help Brides and Grooms be introduced to some of the best wedding vendors in the industry.  We’ll be sharing tips & tricks, along with features & benefits of why hiring professional vendors on your wedding day will not only save you time, but your money & your sanity.

For this week’s program episode I am joined with uber cool and Jaegermeister sponsored DJ Neko last fall at the “Grizzly Hotel” (aka; Grand Californian)  at Downtown Disney.  DJ Neko is a professional DJ from San Diego who I’ve had the honour of working with on many weddings and events and even my sister; Tawnya & Kurt’s Wedding Day that I photographed at the opulent Falkner Winery in Temecula.  If you don’t know much about DJ Neko just yet, check out his bio.  It’s totally overloaded with his passion for his craft and how much he loves what he does.

“UP THE ENERGY AT YOUR CLUB, PARTY OR EVENT WITH DJ NEKO! One of Southern California’s premier club DJs, DJ NEKO built his rock-solid house rep spinning, scratching and spontaneously remixing credible electro dance music into incredible energy-jammed sets that club-and party-goers find impossible not to get out of their seats and dance to!

How does DJ NEKO do it? Some call his music Electro-Hop, R&B Dance or even Hip House, but to him it’s all about “feelin’ it.” In fact, “Feel It” is the name of his smash club hit that never fails to whip the room into a dancing frenzy. DJ NEKO’s mission is to share the feeling, the love and connection to Dance music that he discovered as early as age 7 with his first drum set, quickly followed by a keyboard and, in his teens, several guitars. “I knew in high school that music would be the driving force in my life.” Listening to his early musical influences — the break dancing bands of Depeche Mode, New Order & Run DMC — NEKO fell in love with the idea of DJing and soon broke into the scene playing tunes for break dancers on the busy tourist streets of San Diego.

Before long, DJ NEKO ‘s Colossal Mobile Sound Company was born and much in demand at local private parties, schools, business parties, and clubs. Building on his success in San Diego, DJ NEKO took his unique, energizing electro-house music to Las Vegas, with extended and repeat appearances at The Drink, Shark Club and Utopia nightclubs. As NEKO’s club cred grew, he was given a radio time slot on KLUC 98.5, Las Vegas’s #1 Hit Music Station.

Over the years, DJ NEKO’S spot-on mixing and much-in-demand Rockin’ the Bass talents have kept him in mobile demand between San Diego, LA, San Francisco, and Vegas Hotels’ club rooms at the Paris Hotel and Casino, The Hard Rock, and The Rio. When at home in San Diego, DJ NEKO regularly spins the busy Gas Lamp District with his powerhouse mixes at popular venues such as the rooftop Altitude and On Broadway.

His resume also includes performances at Moondoggies in Pacific Beach, Prospect Lounge in Bakersfield, Harrah’s Rincon Casino, and Baby Rock in Baja, Mexico. Currently at work on his 1st CD, which will include his smash club hit, “Feel It,” DJ NEKO’s dynamic programming, freestyle loops and flawless mixing slams will soon be available on CD.

So sit back with a pad of paper & pen and be ready for some great information on “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” with DJ Neko down in San Diego.

If you have any questions or are a vendor that would like to be on the program, feel free to contact me anytime.  I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.  Cheers!

PS, I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I really am excited to share with you that the butterfly movement that I’m doing my best to help create in Orange County!  it’s such an honour to be more than just a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County capturing beautiful portraits and covering amazing events all over Southern California.  But a photographer that wants to help dilate minds and make positive changes in this world!

PSS, Because DJ Neko is all that and a bowl of chips & dip – he rocked his episode in one take.  So we don’t have any crazy outtakes today, but I’m sure I’ll have some for you in a couple of weeks!
