Newport Beach Wedding Photographer David EsquireGood evening from Esquire Photography HQ everyone!  Have I got a treat for you!

I’m sure you saw in the Sneak Peek Video (and testimonial) I recently shared that I captured through Google Glass & my iPhone of Nikki & Cody’s San Diego – they’re wedding day was everything that a bride & groom could dream of.

Well…

Duran Rex and I have had our noses to the Mac Pro at EPHQ in between other shoots at 281 Motorsports, the Malibu Playhouse for “Dream of the Burning Boy“, Mark Kearney’s “Iced Out” Celebrity VIP Party & giving away a FREE WEDDING DRESS from Simply Bridal & we’re excited to share the fruits of our labour with you.

If Nikki & Cody’s names sound familiar – then I’m sure you saw their totally romantic Engagement Photo Shoot I did with them in San Juan Capistrano along with my “Secret Spot.”

Plus!  I met Nikki nearly a decade ago working side-by-side with her on events with Kathy Miller at Activities So Cal.  It just seemed only natural that over the years we’ve become more than just vendors working together, but friends.  Plus her awesome mum; Angel is one over-the-top/hands-on wedding & event coordinator at Signature Events in San Diego!  So when I received a phone call from Nikki that she wanted me to photograph her romantic San Diego wedding – I quickly said a resounding YES!

From the minute my associate photographer; Andi and I landed at The Courtyard Marriott in San Diego to their ethereal wedding ceremony where Nikki in her Maggie Sottero wedding dress & Cody in his sharp threads from Friar Tux, my signature Rock & Roll bridal portraits, Nikki & Cody’s wedding day was a dream-come-true.

There were special details in their wedding day too; like the lace which was wrapped around the hand-picked flowers in Nikki’s bouquet from Nikki’s mom’s wedding dress to the garter when Nikki was a Flower Girl and the bible of Cody’s best friend – nothing was spared to ensure their wedding day was perfect.

Plus!  Towards the end of the wedding reception at the McMillin Event Center, I was able to sneak Nikki & Cody outside for a few of my Signature Night Romantic Portraits!  Which they seriously ROCKED!

Before you scroll down to check out the video I put together of just a few of my favourites & you would like to chat about your upcoming event – totally comment below or feel free to contact me anytime day or night.  I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you’re having a great start to your week AND totally be sure to check out Christin & Christoph’s Destination Wedding in Mirow, Germany.  There were over 10,000 photos captured during the week that I was in Germany & I’m so excited to share them with you!

Newport Beach Wedding Photographer Holiday Engagement Wedding Tips

Good morning from Esquire Photography HQ everyone!

As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, we’re getting a chill in the air in Orange  County & if you look at the calendar – the holidays are creeping up on us totally fast.  Whoa – where did 2013 go?!?

Well since it is West Coast Wednesday and I love to share Wedding Tips with you, I have “One For The Gents” today.

The holiday season is a wonderful time for romance, and more specifically, a great time to pop the question! Of course, if you have some other grand plan in mind, or you’re not ready yet, you should never propose merely because it’s Christmas – but if you’re someone who’s been looking for the right occasion, now may be the perfect time to start planning a holiday-themed proposal.

In this post, I’ll be going over some tips, resources and ideas that can help you do just that. The holidays are already a time of heightened joy, celebratory atmosphere, and, between couples, romance – the following ideas can help you to take these natural factors to the next level as you propose to your beloved!

Use The Lights
If you want to make a show of things, why not do it with Christmas lights? It’s a bit of a task, and you may need to enlist the help of friends and/or family, but it might just be worth it to create a very memorable proposal. At Christmas Lights Online you can find all the variety you’ll need to create a spectacular “Will You Marry Me?” display, either on the front of your home or inside the house. Wait til he or she goes out Christmas shopping, and then set up the surprise. One tip: you’ll definitely want Esquire Photography to photograph this one!  Wink Wink!

Use Holiday Flowers
When we think of Christmas holiday decorations, there are only a few plants that tend to come to mind – in fact, it’s pretty much just holly on the mantlepiece. But you might want to dig a bit deeper in looking for holiday carnations. At Marks & Spencer, for example, you’ll find prearranged bouquets of seasonal flowers, both fresh for the season and beautifully displaying some holiday colors and themes. If Christmas morning consists of a massive display of flowers – rather than just the presents under the tree – you can strike a real note of romance.

Conceal The Ring
This is perhaps the most basic idea, and doesn’t require any specific resource or service – but it’s nevertheless a playful and romantic holiday proposal concept. If you put the ring inside an ordinary gift box, or even hide the ring box in a stocking otherwise filled with silly stuffers and candies, you can elicit a major surprise factor!

Do It Over Dinner
A holiday dinner proposal isn’t your ordinary romantic-date-for-two affair. Instead, try the traditional ring in a champagne glass trick, or simply propose, over dinner with your closest family members present. This is a time when everyone’s winding down from the Christmas excitement, so it can serve as an incredibly beautiful surprise.

Use A Snowman
If you’re lucky enough to have a white Christmas, use a snowman to propose! Sneak out and give your snowman some stick hands, and let him be the one to present the ring. It’s playful, surprising, and perfectly tied into the holiday spirit.

Is this an awesome wedding planning tip to kick off a West Coast Wednesday or what?!?  Also, if you would like to chat about your upcoming event or wedding – totally comment below or feel free to contact me anytime day or night.  I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebookGoogle+, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you’re having a great week AND totally be sure to check out the photos I shared on Facebook from Veterans Day and the Wrap Up Video (with outtakes!).  Let me just say I don’t remember having so much coffee – LOL!

THANK YOU to all the Veterans who let me buy them a cup of coffee & and share their very real and personal stories serving our country with me at various Starbucks locations throughout Orange County & Los Angeles yesterday!

Here are three of the several amazing veterans I met – who gave me permission to capture a portrait with them.

I had the honour of meeting Mike, chatting & buying a cup of coffee at Starbucks in Huntington Beach, a paratrooper for search & rescue from the U.S. Navy!
