Good morning from Huntington Beach everyone!  It’s time for the West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and this is one Huntington Beach wedding photographer that is has got a great double feature for you.

If you saw the Grammy Awards on Sunday and/or the red carpet awards, then you would have seen some of the amazing fashions everyone was wearing.  From the lavish gowns, to the out of this world shoes and spectacular details – nothing was spared.

Plus… you would have seen the ostentatious arrival from one of the most cutting edge and theatrical artists of our generation; Lady Gaga.  She showed up in a giant egg because she was still incubating for her performance and what she was wearing.  Yeah, that was way out there.  But that was just it – she was wayyyyyyyyy out there & created a buzz for herself.  Pretty brave if you ask me!

Lady Gaga didn’t sweep the awards, but she did take home some and another favourite band that I like did well & performed too and that was Paramore.  I’m guessing by now you may already know a bit (or quite a bit) about Lady Gaga, but check out this bit about Paramore from their bion on their website.  Good Stuff!

“As Paramore embark on the most successful year of their career, there seems to be no limit as to what they can accomplish. The band’s last 2007 album RIOT! has sold over two million copies worldwide, the group was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 for “Best New Artist” and even their live CD/DVD The Final Riot! has gone gold. However while these statistics are impressive, record sales have never been the driving force behind Paramore and that fact has never been as evident as it is on the group’s highly anticipated third full-length brand new eyes. In fact, as excited as this group of young adults from Franklin, Tennessee are to have had the opportunity to tour with their heroes like Jimmy Eat World and No Doubt over the past few years, they seem even more ecstatic to share brand new eyes with the world. “I hope that every record is a progression for us, but this one is definitely a huge leap from RIOT!,” the band’s front woman Hayley Williams explains. “I just can’t wait to get back on the road and start playing these new songs live”

Ya know… I wasn’t always a Huntington Beach wedding photographer shooting weddings & portraits around Southern California.  I used to be in a band while I was shooting with one of my old high school friends back from ’86 – ’89 & then played the drums with a lot of other bands from Portland like “Jane His Wife” and then in Chicago with a band called “Male on Sunday” (which was a Duran Duran cover band AND my band mates totally looked like John Taylor & Nick Rhodes – crazy!).

As far back as I can remember, I have always loved music.  Listening to music as it’s evolved from vinyl records to casette tapes, CDs, DVDs and now MP3s which really loses the quality of music as it’s compressed.

BUT, it’s still music nonetheless and I absolutely love music like I love photography and art and theater and broadway.  Art in general is in my blood.  I wake up in the morning with music in my head, ideas for photography and barriers in art that I want to break through.

One of the things I love about my West Coast Wednesday Videos Of The Week is I’m able to lift the lid into the “Agile mind of David Esquire” & share a bit of what’s going on in my crazy caffeinated noggin.

I woke up with a prolific scene from the movie; Almost Famous in my head.  Which I might add is one of the best movies created with so many layers upon layers of messages about life, relationships and love.  If you haven’t seen it yet, add it to your list – a must see indeed.

So as I’m enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee from my favourite mug that I brought home from Warick Castle in England when I was there for Erin & Philip’s Engagement Shoot, I want to share the song that was from the scene in Almost Famous.  It is Sir Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer.”

If you’re not too familiar with Elton John, check out this snippet about him from his Bio on his website:

“Four decades since the 1969 release of his first album, Empty Sky, Elton John is still creating some of the finest music of his career. The 2001 album Songs From The West Coast gave him another smash hit single with I Want Love, and then in 2005 the release of the deluxe edition of Peachtree Road, including three new songs from Billy Elliot The Musical gave Elton another hit single with the Billy Elliot songElectricity. In 2002 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Royal Academy of Music. Other landmark awards include Best British Male Artist Brit Award 1991; induction into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame, 1994; five Grammy Awards 1986-2000; Grammy Legend Award, 2001; Kennedy Center Honor, 2004 and 11 Ivor Novello Awards between 1973 and 2000.”

But before you check out this week’s West Coast Wednesday Video Of The Week and you’re thinking… Hey – I’d really like to get to know this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer that loves 80′s music, fashion, photography and art, feel free to contact me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

So without further ado, I give you Sir Elton John with two videos of “Tiny Dancer.”  So feel free to sit back with your favourite morning beverage, enjoy the videos of incredible music, vocals and awesome message.

Have an awesome first West Coast Wednesday and also remember to make it a totally positive one for someone else too – cheers!

There are many things that I love about being a Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer.  There is living in Southern California, more specifically – Orange County, which has the most amazing sunsets in the country.  Then there’s the amazing friends that I have all the way south in San Diego to San Francisco.  Then there’s the amazing clients that I get to work with like Shelby & Matt. (No more “And then.” – hee hee hee!)

I recently had the honour of working with Shelby & Matt on their 12 Hour Engagement Shoot that I did with them all over Southern California from Disneyland to Disney’s California Adventure and San Diego Wild Animal Park.

As if that wasn’t amazing enough, I helped Shelby & Matt secure their Silverado Wedding at Rancho Las Lomas on WeTV‘s “My Fair Wedding” with David Tutera with a video I shot of their wonderful story.  It’s been a total honour to serve Shelby, Matt, their family & friends over the past year 1/2 and I’m truly looking forward to all the amazing experiences we’ll share in the future.

I really love how Shelby described their experience working with me for their Engagement Shoot and Wedding – she’s very poignant.  Check it out – it’s perfect!

“Thanks for the amazing opportunity you gave me and so much more.

Words cannot express how Happy I am to have such an amazing person like David Esquire in my life. I have learned so much through this process from both the Davids in my life; David Tutera and of course David Esquire!!!!

I love you :)”

If you’re wanting a similar experience like what Shelby & Matt had for their Engagement Shoot and Wedding at Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado, California and you’re thinking to yourself…  Hey – I’d really like to contact this Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer in Orange County that shoots all over from Los Angeles to Ventura and San Diego.  Feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.

I hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday – cheers!

Straight out of Huntington Beach, this is one wedding photographer that would like to personally WELCOME you to the next episode of “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day!”

Every other week “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” is committed to help Brides and Grooms be introduced to some of the best wedding vendors in the industry.  We’ll be sharing tips & tricks, along with features & benefits of why hiring professional vendors on your wedding day will not only save you time, but your money & your sanity.

For this week’s program episode I am joined down by the sand in Seal Beach with Ms. Lauren Vopatek – the master uber-hair stylist from Dean Anthony on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, Long Beach and Bella Salon of Naples.  I have had the honour of working with Lauren over the past year & she’s also taken care of my crazy hair styles. So when she said she would love to help couples have a better idea about why it’s important to hire a professional hair stylist, I jumped at the opportunity to record her episode. Even on my iPhone as my Canon video camera was not happy that day. Nothing like sacrificing quality for content – yeah!

If you don’t know much about Lauren and all the amazing creative people at Dean Anthony and Bella Salon of Naples, check out her bio.  Lauren has quite the well versed background as a master hair stylist and it’s totally impressive (and she’s also from my home town; Chicago – yeah!).

“Master stylist, Lauren Vopatek, has been in the industry for over 7 years. She started her career in her home town of Chicago, where she graduated cosmetology school and participated in a year long apprenticeship with one of Chicago’s top salons.

After a few years behind the chair Lauren received an opportunity to work for one of Chicago’s premiere salons, Elizabeth Red Door Salon and Spas. At Elizabeth Arden she advanced her skills by training in the art of Vidal Sassoon inspired precision cutting and focusing on a cutting specialty. Laurens passion eventually brought her to Southern California where she is now a full time stylist and educator for Bella Salon of Naples as well as part of an elite team of educators for L’Oreal Professional.

Laurens passion for beauty and talent for hair drives her to continually update her skills and provide the best service possible for her guests.

Specialties-Laurens specialties include creative cutting, advanced color techniques, Keratin straightening, chemical relaxing treatments, and extensions.”

So sit back with a pad of paper & pen and be ready for some great information on “How To Make The Most Out Of Your Wedding Day” with Lauren Vopatek from Dean Anthony on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, Long Beach and Bella Salon of Naples.

If you have any questions or are a vendor that would like to be on the program, feel free to contact me anytime.  I’m available just about 24/7 via TwitterFacebook, the form on my contact page, or the old fashioned phone as well at 888.ESQ.PHTO (888.377.7486) or 562.225.5915.  Cheers!
