Happy 3rd of July from Ireland! It’s been madness since Phil and I got back from our heavenly Hawaiian honeymoon and finally home to Erie, but I’m finally sitting down and getting the chance to write back to you…nearly two months later! We came home to a dead laptop, so the lovely people at Dell set to work a few weeks ago and just delivered us a new little bundle of computer joy! So now I can email again, and have a nice wide screen that does your photographs justice!
I am so glad that you enjoyed our wedding day as much as we enjoyed having you both there with us. David, I don’t know if there is any photographer on the planet who could have covered every angle of our big day for 10 long hours with such enthusiasm and skill. We were so impressed to have you for the whole day, we didn’t dare think that the company and assistance of your wonderful wife was part of the deal as well! Katherine, you were so kind, concerned, and helpful–I only recently found out that there might not have been flowers at the ceremony if it wasn’t for you having the florist’s phone number on hand–THANK YOU.
Everyone has been saying how great our photographer and his lovely wife were, and have been raving about the wedding and loving the sample pictures (myself included!). The sample photos look absolutely fab-u-lous. It’s so great to have a little taste of the day to keep us going until the final product is ready.

Honestly, I don’t know how I would have survived. The shoot itself was so surreal, I needed to see the pictures to be sure it actually happened — and that it went as fabulously as it felt! Phil and I were excited enough, but everyone I know was absolutely dying to see how the photos turned out from our London Engagment Session too, and let me tell you we all LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures!!! No one can pick a favorite — the daffodils? Big Ben? the fountain? the London Eye? Each one looks like a post card but without taking away from the people in the picture.
Also, I was so touched by your write-up of the shoot and your beautiful description of me and Phil. I am so flattered — thank you. If we are “Romance, defined.” you are truly the gifted artist for seeing that and capturing it with your photography. I am so grateful to have these beautiful images to remember this time in our lives.
On a more practical note, I couldn’t appreciate the technical importance of having an engagment session until we’d finished it. I’m so glad we got to spend time working together before the big day. The familiarity and ease we established at the engagment shoot will add an invaluable warmth to our wedding photographs. I’ve never seen Phil so enthusiastic outside his comfort zone, and I’ve never felt so comfortable being photographed. And then to see the results! The difference between a typical photographer and an artist — you photographed the way we feel about each other. Your style and structure in every photo is so artfully constructed, but mindful of the subjects. It’s such a confidence booster to know that every gorgeous angle of every moment on our wedding day will be so brilliantly captured in the say way.
Thanks to you and Katherine both for sharing your time with us for such a magical day! If anything could have added to the whole experience, it was sharing the day with such a caring and supportive couple.
